We’re 1 month away from Hawaii’s Champion of the Year Gala Friendship Jam 🎸Have you gotten your tickets yet?

Don’t wait! Tickets 🎟️ are going fast and you won’t want to miss out on the opportunity to support people with special abilities make one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, and leadership development skills right here in Hawai’i✨

At the Friendship jam, you will enjoy live entertainment from some of Hawai’i’s favorite musicians, dinner, silent and live auctions, and mission moments that will touch your heart.💜 It is a magical night to celebrate the power of inclusion, and recognize the tireless fundraising efforts of our Champions; then, we’ll find out who raised the most funds and crown them Grand Champion of the Year!👑

✨ Champion Candidate Spotlight: Kristina Saif✨
Kristina is passionate about Best Buddies. She says that this organization is important because it break societies stereotypes about people with disabilities and gives all of us a place to sparkle and shine.🌟

Kristina was the Grand Champion of the Year 2025 and looks to make a comeback and compete once again to keep her crown. She is a member of the Citizens O’ahu chapter, recent graduate of cohort 1 of Ambassador Academy and now an active Ambassador who is sharing her story in the community and at the Best Buddies Friendship Walk!🎉🌟 She recently attended BBLC in Indiana on the LIFE track which explores job readiness and career building🫶🏼🤩

She is supported by her Mission Partner, Glenn Hiro. Glenn has been an advocate, participant and ambassador for many years with Best Buddies. His expertise and passion for the mission will surely elevate Kristina’s campaign and inspire many others to be a part of the inclusion movement.

✨ Champion Candidate Spotlight: Kaitlin Preciado✨
Kaitlin has been a community volunteer since 2021🤩. She is the CEO of Emergent Learning Hawai’i Learning Centers, a specialized pediatric therapy and neurodevelopmental facility offering core services like ABA for children with Autism and Developmental Disabilities. She recently obtained her Doctorate of Psychology from California Southern University.

Kaitlin loves Best Buddies because it provides a place where you can be yourself, do the things you love while helping your friends be a part of something amazing.

With Kaitlin’s thoughtful leadership, dedication and passion for making a meaningful difference in lives of others, we know that our participants with IDD will be able to feel a place of belonging.

✨ Champion Candidate Spotlight: Mike Bearis✨
Mike has volunteered as a chapter advisor since 2013🤩His dedication has given his students and school community the opportunity to grow new leaders, build countless one to one friendships and make their members feel included.

Alongside his Campaign Manager, Reina Angelo-Kukar who also volunteers as a chapter advisor for over a decade, she wants to see more youth with and without IDD find a place of belonging and have the opportunity to create change.

Collectively they want to see more students attend the annual Best Buddies Leadership Conference in 2027!🌟

Seijin loves Best Buddies because this organization creates a place for all to make a difference 💜 He wants to lead other towards change.
