A stronger community isn’t built by one organization. It’s built by businesses willing to open their doors and invest in people.

When local employers create opportunities for individuals of all abilities, they strengthen their teams, support local families, and help build a more connected Hawaiʻi for everyone.

Every internship creates more than work experience. It creates confidence, independence, and a community where everyone has the opportunity to contribute.

That’s how lasting change happens.

When people hear the word “accessibility,” they often picture a wheelchair ramp. But accessibility goes far beyond physical spaces.

It’s how we communicate, how we design technology, how we build workplaces, and how we create opportunities for everyone to participate.

The best accessibility often goes unnoticed because it’s built into the experience from the beginning. From captions on videos to accessible websites and inclusive hiring practices, thoughtful design makes life easier for more people than we often realize.

Accessibility isn’t about making exceptions. It’s about removing barriers so everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

Because when we design for inclusion, everyone benefits.

Ability has never been the question. Opportunity is.

When people with disabilities are given the chance to learn, contribute, and grow, they consistently demonstrate the talent, dedication, and work ethic they bring to the workplace.

Inclusive hiring isn’t about lowering expectations. It’s about recognizing potential that too often goes unseen.

Because when opportunity is accessible, everyone benefits, employees, businesses, and the community we all share.

Inclusive hiring isn’t about filling positions. It’s about unlocking potential.

The strongest workplaces are built by recognizing talent in all its forms. Businesses that embrace inclusive hiring often benefit from stronger retention, diverse perspectives, increased innovation, and teams that better reflect the communities they serve.

At Abilities Unlimited Hawaii, we partner with employers to make inclusive hiring practical, successful, and sustainable—providing the guidance and support needed every step of the way.

When opportunity meets ability, everyone moves forward.

Learn how inclusive hiring can strengthen your workplace and Hawaii’s workforce.

Building a great business means building opportunities.

At Mad Pie Pizza, investing in interns through Abilities Unlimited Hawaii isn’t just about filling roles. It’s about creating a workplace where everyone has the chance to contribute, grow, and succeed.

The result is stronger teams, meaningful opportunities, and a business that’s better because of the people behind it. When businesses choose inclusion, the impact reaches far beyond their walls. It strengthens their staff, their company, and our entire community.

Mahalo to James and Mad Pie Pizza for proving that doing good and building a great business can go hand in hand.

💪✨ Building Skills, Building Confidence!
Abilities Unlimited has been partnering with Ronald McDonald House of Hawaii to give our members real-world work experience! Our members shred and sort documents — developing valuable workplace skills, building confidence, and showing just what they’re capable of.
Every task completed is a step forward. We are so proud of our amazing members! 🌺

Whether it’s shredding documents or sorting through piles of paperwork, Linda makes sure our members feel supported, capable, and confident in everything they do. Her dedication is what makes moments of growth possible. 🌺

For RMH, our AU members provide real, meaningful help shredding and sorting documents so their staff can stay focused on supporting families in need. For our members, it’s so much more than a task. It’s a chance to show up, learn, and grow.
And for Dazja? Watching our members walk a little taller and smile a little bigger with every job well done. That’s the best part. 💛
This is what community looks like. 🌺

Meet Dazja! 🌺
Dazja gives us a heartfelt look at what makes the partnership between Abilities Unlimited and Ronald McDonald House of Hawaii so special — and it goes both ways! While our members gain real-world work experience and build confidence through shredding and sorting documents, RMH gets meaningful support that helps their team focus on the families who need them most.
“It brings me joy to see them gain confidence” — and we couldn’t agree more. Watching our members show up, work hard, and believe in themselves is everything. 💪✨
Thank you, Dazja, for championing our members and for being such an incredible part of this partnership! 🙏❤️
