🌤️ Work on our interactive aviation weather (METAR) maps!

🔧 **Have a small RC airplane that needs some TLC?** Bring it along! Our mentors can help with setup, troubleshooting, and repairs.

At **5:00 PM**, we'll be firing up the grill for hamburgers and serving delicious cheese quesadillas!

You don't need any aviation experience to join the fun. Just bring your curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn!

Our Build & Fly program is all about getting youth involved in aviation through hands-on projects, teamwork, and FUN!

The EAA 105 3rd Tuesday of October Gathering will be on October 20th at the TeenFlight building at Hillsboro Airport.

6:30 PM socializing and food served

7:00 PM presentation about what going on at TeenFlight.

TeenFlight is a volunteer organization that helps Highschool age kids build RV-12 ELSA airplanes under the tutelage of experienced mentors, most of whom are members of EAA Chapter 105. They are now about half finished with their 9th RV-12 being built by their 9th cohort of 17 Portland area kids who meet every Saturday for 6-hour construction sessions. Some of these students will be at our Oct. meeting to help show and explain details of the plane they are constructing.

✈️ EAA Chapter 105 Fly-Out – Jordan Chicken Run

Sunday, September 27 | 9:00 AM–3:00 PM

Join us for a fun day of flying, food, airplanes, cars, and pie!

We’ll kick things off at Hangar G1 at Twin Oaks Airpark at 9:00 AM with coffee and donuts. Around 10:00 AM, we’ll depart as a group for Gillette Field (OR51) and the 92nd Annual Jordan Chicken Dinner & 21st Annual Cruise-In and Fly-In.

The Jordan Chicken Dinner runs from 10:30 AM–3:00 PM and features an all-you-can-eat BBQ chicken dinner, car and airplane displays, vendors, raffles, music, kids' games, and more. Dinner is $20 for adults, $5 for children ages 6–10, and free for children 5 and under. Only 2,000 dinner tickets are available, so tickets can sell out.

⚠️ PILOTS: OR51 IS A GRASS STRIP

Gillette Field has a 2,800-foot wide grass Runway 8/26, with power lines on the east end. Unicom is 122.9 and traffic is left-hand.

After lunch, around noon, some of us plan to continue on to Scappoose Airport (KSPB) for their Grand Reopening and NWAAC Annual Pie-In, running from 12:00–3:00 PM.

This is a casual Chapter fly-out, so come and go as you wish! Join us for coffee and donuts, fly to Jordan with the group, meet us there, continue on to Scappoose, or just enjoy whichever part of the day works for you.

Unfortunately, due to the weather, today’s EAA Chapter 105 Poker Run has been canceled.

We are disappointed that we couldn’t make it happen today, but the safety of our pilots, passengers, and volunteers must come first. We will do our best to reschedule the Poker Run later this year and will share a new date as soon as we can.

Thank you to everyone for your patience, understanding, and continued support of EAA Chapter 105. We especially appreciate all the volunteers and participating airports who helped prepare for the event!

POKER RUN WEATHER DELAY ✈️

Good morning, flyers! Due to the forecast IFR conditions, we are delaying the Poker Run by 1½ hours. Conditions are expected to improve to marginal VFR around 9:00 a.m. and hopefully clear by 10:00 a.m.

Rion will remain at Lenhardt Airpark until 10:30 a.m.

If you cannot make it to Lenhardt by 10:30, you are still welcome to join the Poker Run and pay at Twin Oaks at the end.

If the weather prevents you from reaching all five airports, we will make sure you receive enough cards at Twin Oaks to complete your hand before the final drawing.

⚠️ Seaside traffic reminder: A flyover is scheduled between noon and 1:00 p.m. Please expect increased traffic in the area and keep a careful watch for other aircraft.

🛩️ EAA 105 September Fly-Out – WAAAM Hood River Fly-In! ✈️

Join EAA Chapter 105 on Saturday, September 12th for a group fly-out to the Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum (WAAAM) Annual Hood River Fly-In at 4S2!

☕ Meet at Hangar G1 at Twin Oaks Airpark at 9:00 AM for coffee and donuts.

✈️ Weather permitting, we’ll depart around 10:00 AM and fly as a group to Ken Jernstedt Airfield (4S2) in Hood River for the WAAAM Fly-In.

The annual WAAAM Fly-In attracts hundreds of people and aircraft and is a great opportunity to see vintage airplanes, explore the museum, meet fellow aviation enthusiasts, and spend the day surrounded by some amazing pieces of aviation history.

🎟️ WAAAM Fly-In admission is $25 and includes admission to the museum and Fly-In activities.
