Build & Fly is targeted at youth 10-15 but will be open to all youth. Mentors will make every effort to have age appropriate projects available for younger persons.

Build & Fly programs are always free for youth.

*On a very very rare occasion a nominal fee may be requested for something special that will go home with the youth. Plenty of notice will be given for any projects like this. In this case, financial aid for a youth can be discussed if needed.



Build and Fly -Schedule for 2026

2/15, 3/1, 3/15, 3/29, 4/12, 4/26, 5/10, 5/24, 6/14, 6/28, 7/12, 7/26, 8/9, 8/23, any scheduling for September through the end of the year will be special scheduled projects.

Program times will be from 3:30pm to 5:00pm with dinner after 5.

Food will be planned for after every session, a donation is accepted however not expected.

✈️ This Saturday June 27th – Chapter Fly-Out to Newport! ✈️

Join us at Hangar G1 at 9:00 AM for coffee, donuts, and some hangar flying before we head out.

Weather permitting, we'll depart as a group around 10:30 AM and fly over to Newport (ONP) to enjoy the Saturday BBQ and some great company.

☕ Don't let the weather stop you from joining us! Even if conditions aren't suitable for flying, we'll still gather at G1 for coffee, donuts, and aviation conversation.

EAA Chapter 105 will be hosting an open house and pot-luck dinner at Twin Oaks Airpark hangar G1 on Tuesday July 21, 6:30 PM. Families, friends, student pilots, instructors, hangar neighbors, and others interested in the chapter. are welcome to join us. The chapter will provide bbq pulled pork, hotdogs, cheese quesadillas, water to drink, plates, and utensils. Attendees are encouraged to bring a food dish to share and something for themselves to drink if they want more than cold water.

EAA105 Evening Gathering – Flying the Lockwood AirCam

This Gathering is our first Gathering on a new schedule of Gathering on the evening of the third Tuesday of the month. We are changing to this new regularly scheduled third Tuesday because we wanted to make our Gatherings not conflict with other aviation organizations that meet on Thursday evenings.

Tonight’s presentation is by Jeff Axel speaking about flying the Lockwood AirCam.

As usual, food fest at 6:30pm and presentation at 7pm.

EAA Chapter 105 Monthly Breakfast – TOMORROW!

The next EAA Chapter 105 Monthly Breakfast is tomorrow, Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Twin Oaks Airpark.

Open to the public! Breakfast will be served from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

Adults: $10
Couples: $18
Children: $5

This is also our first Young Eagles event of the season. Please watch for increased aircraft traffic in the pattern and additional people and families on the airport grounds throughout the morning.

We have plenty of parking available for everyone!

Come enjoy a great breakfast, see some airplanes, and help us introduce the next generation to aviation. We look forward to seeing you there!

EAA Chapter 105 Visits Van’s Aircraft

EAA105 would like to extend a huge thank you to Van’s Aircraft for hosting our chapter gathering and factory tour last Thursday evening. We had an incredible time exploring the updated factory layout, seeing the new build areas, and getting an up-close look at the exciting RV-15!

It was great to spend the evening surrounded by fellow aviation enthusiasts, and we even had a couple pilots fly in for the event. A great time was had by all!

Thank you again to the team at Van’s for their hospitality and for taking the time to talk with our members about all things RV.

If you’d like the opportunity to visit amazing aviation facilities, meet great people, and be part of our aviation community, we’d love to see you at our next Chapter Gathering!

Chapter Gathering at Vans Aircraft

This month’s Gathering will be at Vans Aircraft, at the south end of Aurora State Airport.

Pizza will be served at 6:30 pm and a factory tour at 7 pm.

People who drive are encouraged to carpool and can park in the Van’s Aircraft front parking lot.

Primary aircraft parking is in front of the India Hangar (AIRCRAFT PARKING on the overhead image).

Overflow parking only if primary parking is full, in the areas labelled as such.

Car parking is in the front parking lot at the Van’s Aircraft office building:

📢 Build & Fly Schedule Update

Please note that our May 10th Build & Fly session has been moved to Saturday, May 3rd to allow our youth and their families to spend Mother’s Day together. 💙

We hope to see everyone there!

At this session, we’ll be building Zagi wings out of foam—a great hands-on introduction to the skills we’ll be using when we begin working on the Skypup project. We’ll also have time for flying in the large flight sim, and if weather permits, flying RC airplanes out back!

Thanks for your understanding, and we’re looking forward to another awesome session!
