10/22/26 VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

Many of you know our Tuesday registrar, Iris. She has been a volunteer at Your Food Oasis for around seven years. Iris helps set up the back porch area, greets our patrons as they register and always stays after food boxes have been distributed to help clean up so we can go home.

Iris was a middle school secretary for 37 years in the Hillsboro school district. She enjoys spending time with her 4 grandchildren, collecting stamps and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. Her favorite flower is, of course...... the Iris.

10/15/26 VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

Elaine is another one of our Sunday volunteers. She has been at Your Food Oasis for 2 1/2 years. Sorting food, filling bread racks, bagging meat and filling boxes keeps her pretty busy.

Prior to retirement, Elaine taught multiple subjects in the Department of Defense school system for 35 years. She is the 4th past teacher we have as volunteers at YFO.

When Elaine is not volunteering, she is busy supporting her husband, Luis who is campaigning for a seat on the Hillsboro City Council.

💚 Food is Free at Your Food Oasis! 💚
At Your Food Oasis, our doors and hearts are always open.
We want to remind our beneficiaries of a guiding principle that we have followed since we first opened our doors: Your Food Oasis never charges for food, and we will never turn anyone away.
We continue to, graciously, receive voluntary donations from those of you who are able and wish to give. The donations have greatly assisted YFO to cover operating expenses and to keep our doors open. As Always. Donations are completely optional. You never need to pay or donate to receive food.
Since 2018, our 501(c)(3) nonprofit has been 100% volunteer-run and community-supported. Every week, we proudly provide 180–240 boxes of groceries to local households in need.
Unfortunately, we are not set-up to allow any single individual to take more than one box. Each household must be represented by an adult and a single adult can only represent one household. If you are assisting households who are unable to make it to us themselves, please consider collecting a box for them on an alternative distribution day. We distribute boxes every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday
If you have a friend, a family member or a neighbor needing extra help putting food on the table, please share this information with them.

10/13/26 Tuesday

We're expecting another busy day today. We will be receiving produce from Lippman. We never know ahead of time what they are giving us until they bring out the pallet. As far as that goes, we never know ahead of time what any of our amazing grocery stores will be donating to YFO each day. That is why no two food boxes are the same. Just a little fact I thought I would share.

10/11/2026

10/11/26 Sunday

We have an overabundance of food today so the boxes should be very full. Be sure to be in line by 12 noon. Please return your clean empty banana box's from your previous visits.
