Final orientation of the year is done! ☑️ Pre-Departure Orientation was held this year at the Intel campus in Hillsboro. Students are prepared to head home in June and plan to make the best of their last two months here in Oregon!

We had a great time with our YES program students fulfilling a couple of their scholarship requirements today! Azra, Bagus, and Yuen Ya joined Word is Bond this morning for their In My Shoes walking tour and learned about the lives of young black men in North Portland. The Mayor of Portland and former Word Is Bond board member, Keith Wilson was also present and spent some time meeting and talking with our group at the end of the tour.

After we stopped for lunch, we headed over to the End of Oregon Trail Interpretive Center and learned all about the experiences those who traveled to Oregon City on the Oregon Trail went through. Some of the activities they participated in were dressing in period accurate clothing, candle dipping and journal making, log house building, and paper weaving.
