Special morning. Thank you to SpotOn Fence for joining us today at Charlotte Motor Speedway to officially match Maverick with his new best friend, and American hero, Alex. Alex is a 13 year Army Veteran with multiple deployments with 8 of his service years as a Green Beret with the 10th Special Forces Group before being medically retired due to a combat wound.

Come out to the Green Top Sporting Goods Outdoor Expo this weekend in Hanover, VA 10/3 and 10/4. The WBWF Youth Outreach booth will be setup in the Kids Zone! We'll have a "Make a Habitat" bookmark craft, giveaway items and interactive educational display setup. Hope to see you there!

Interested in volunteering with WBWF? We're looking for volunteer help next weekend (10/3 and 10/4) with our Youth Outreach program booth at the Green Top Outdoor Expo in Hanover, VA. Our booth will be in the Kid's Zone and feature a craft, giveaway items, and an interactive educational setup. Morning, mid-day and late afternoon, 3 hour shifts are available. Over the past two weekends, students in the Longwood Archaeology program excavated 1m x 2m test units at a site on WBWF property. The team was working to understand how deep the archaeology is at the site across the landform that may have been an island in the past. The students found deep deposits of artifacts across the area they were investigating.

Since 2025, students have found artifacts and features on this site indicating that the Sappony Indians had a long-term presence at this location from about 1300AD to about 1450AD.
