🎃🚀 Pumpkins are taking flight at FYC! 🚀🎃

Forget carving pumpkins this year… we’re launching them! 😂

Join us this Sunday from 6-7:30 at Farmville United Methodist Church for the FYC Pumpkin Launch Challenge, where our students will team up, put their engineering skills to the test, and build their own pumpkin-launching contraptions. Then it’s time to see whose pumpkin can FLY the farthest! 🏆

Expect creativity, friendly competition, a little trial and error, and probably a few spectacular pumpkin fails along the way. 🎃💥

Grab your friends and come ready to build, launch, and have some fall fun with the Farmville Youth Collective!

Tonight we celebrated Connor’s 40th…or rather 14th birthday 🤣! We looked at Proverbs’ wisdom around friendship and took up the challenge this week of asking God to help us strengthen one quality or characteristic of being a good friend that we struggle with. We ended the evening with a team builder challenge - can your group move from one side of the room to the other while holding markers between each person using only one finger without dropping them? It was tough but both groups finally achieved the goal!

We’ll see everyone next Sunday for our final Sunday at Farmville United Methodist Church before we transition to Farmville Baptist Church, Farmville, VA for November and December!

Last night we continued our series in Proverbs taking a look at passages from chapters 22-24 focusing on Solomon’s advice. We talked about where and who we get advice from when we need it and how we determine whether advice is good or bad. We then talked about the various ways we can turn to God for advice and the youth thought about one way they will commit to leaning on God for advice this week. What’s one way you seek out advice from God?

We ended our night with a fun new game we’re calling 007! See everyone next week!

Tonight at FYC we looked at Proverbs 16 and talked about how God’s wisdom calls us to use words that build others up rather than tear them down. We had a fun spooky themed dinner 🎃 💀👻 and ended our night with a blind smell guessing game. See everyone next week!

Tonight we talked about how God’s wisdom helps us in times of temptation. We looked at Matthew 4:1-11 and Proverbs 8:1-20 to see how Jesus dealt with temptation and what wisdom tells us and values. We ended the night with a fun game called “Rock, Paper, Scissors, Run!”

Tonight at FYC we looked at Proverbs 1:1-7 and talked about the difference between knowledge and wisdom and how Solomon teaches us that wisdom comes from our faith in God! We ended the evening with a few fun games. Can’t wait to see everyone again next week at Farmville United Methodist Church from 6-7:30pm!
