Silver Star Sister Spotlight 💚🩷: Tracey Armwood Wade

Dr. Tracey Armwood Wade is an accomplished educator with more than 25 years of experience dedicated to student achievement and academic excellence. A proud graduate of Prince Edward County High School, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English as well as a Master’s degree in English Education and Writing from Longwood University. She later obtained a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, further strengthening her commitment to effective educational leadership and student success.

Dr. Wade is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, having joined the Kappa Rho Omega Chapter in Fall 2000. She is the daughter of chapter charter member, Sister Jacqueline Allen Armwood. Her leadership within the organization includes serving as a former Anti-Basileus and currently serves on the Graduate Advisor Committee for the Lambda Delta Chapter, where she mentors and guides collegiate members.
With a career rooted in excellence, leadership, and service, Dr. Wade continues to make a lasting impact in both education and her community.

Silver Star Sister Spotlight 💚🩷: Elvira Ford

Elvira is a distinguished educator, community leader, and servant of faith whose lifelong commitment to education, civic engagement, and Christian service has positively impacted countless lives. A Life Member of the NAACP, National Education Association (NEA), Virginia Education Association (VEA), and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, where she has earned Silver Star recognition, she has dedicated herself to advocacy, leadership, and community empowerment. She is an active member of the Nottoway Civic League, Piedmont Geriatric Foundation, Alms House Board, and AARP. For 68 years, Soror Elvira has faithfully served at Macedonia Baptist Church in Burkeville, Virginia, in numerous leadership roles, including Sunday School Superintendent, Deaconess, Pianist, Missionary, Outreach Ministry member, and Moderator. She also serves as Food Chair for the Nottoway Sunday School Union and has devoted 35 years as Youth Matron for the United Baptist Protective Association and Allied Bodies. A retired educator with 36 years of service in Amelia County Public Schools, Elvira is a graduate of Longwood College (University) and the University of Virginia. She is especially recognized as one of the first African Americans to attend previously segregated schools under Virginia’s Freedom of Choice Program, helping pave the way for greater educational opportunities and equity for future generations.

Silver Star Sister Spotlight 💚🩷: Shelly Clark-Reed

Shelly Clark-Reed was initiated into the Alpha Epsilon chapter on the campus of Virginia State University in the Fall of 2001. Upon graduation, she eventually became a member of Kappa Rho Omega. She currently serves as the Grammateus. Prior to that she served as the Anti-Grammateus. While at Virginia State University, Shelly majored in biology and graduated with a Bachelor of Science. Upon graduating she began teaching at Prince Edward County Middle School. After teaching for three years, Shelly went to Henrico County Public Schools. During her time there, she attended Virginia Commonwealth University and graduated with a Master of Education, with a concentration in Educational Leadership. Unfortunately, she was not able to attend her own graduation because she had her daughter three days prior. After having Micah, Shelly returned to Prince Edward and began teaching again. In 2015, she left teaching and became an Assistant Principal at the elementary school, later the middle school, and now is the principal of Prince Edward County Middle School.

Golden Sister Spotlight 💚🩷: Dr. Theresa Clark

Dr. Theresa Clark was initiated into the Kappa Rho Omega Chapter in 1976. Within the chapter, she has served in multiple capacities. Positions include Basileus and Graduate Advisor to Lambda Delta on the campus of Longwood University. Dr. Clark is a graduate of Virginia State College (University), Longwood College (University), and Virginia Commonwealth University. Her degrees are Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a concentration in Social Welfare, Master of Science in Counseling, and she holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Work, respectively. Dr. Clark began her career as a Social Worker in both Prince Edward County and Cumberland County. She has also worked in the private sector. Dr. Clark became the very first Director of Minority Affairs at Longwood College. She moved on to become an instructor, followed by a full-time professor. Her areas of expertise are Social Work, Social Policy, and all things diversity. Her entire life has been devoted to serving others. Make no mistake her first priority is her family. She has been married for over 50 years and has two daughters and one granddaughter.
