We talk a lot about what happens at The Compassionate Purse: the auction, the food, the dancing, the masks. But we never want to lose sight of why we're doing it.

Madeline's House provides a safe place and supportive services for survivors and their children during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
And none of that work happens alone.

It happens because people in our communities care. Because businesses give. Because volunteers show up. Because neighbors decide that helping someone they've never met still matters.

That's what The Compassionate Purse is really about.

Over the next several weeks, we're going to show you lots of ways to be part of it. Some are big. Some are small. Every single one matters!💜

On November 7, we're bringing our community together for something special: good food, dancing, a silent auction, a little friendly competition for the best mask 😉 and, most importantly, a reason much bigger than all of it.

Exciting things are ahead for our community! 🏡 We’re proud to be working toward new housing opportunities that help meet the needs of individuals and families right here in Prince Edward County.

🏡 More housing opportunities could be coming to Prince Edward County. STEPS, Inc. is planning two projects aimed at addressing local housing needs: a mixed-use community with more than 130 homes and apartments for low-income residents and a community of micro-homes that would provide transitional housing and support services for individuals experiencing homelessness.

We're officially beginning to collect donations for the silent auction at The Compassionate Purse!

One of our favorite things about this part of the event is seeing just how many different people find a way to be part of it. This is where we need our community! 💜

Maybe you're a restaurant that can donate a date night. A local shop with something special on the shelf. A photographer who can give a session. Or maybe you're someone who loves putting together a really good gift basket.

It all adds up!

Every item helps us create an incredible auction, and every dollar raised helps support survivors and their children through Madeline's House!

The Compassionate Purse benefits Madeline's House and helps us continue providing safety and support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their children. 💜
