Farmville Downtown Partnership The Farmville Downtown Partnership is a non-profit organization representing the designated historic district of Farmville.

Farmville Downtown Partnership is the 501c3 not-for-profit public-private partner with the Town of Farmville. Founded for the purpose of spearheading the revitalization efforts for the historic commercial district of Farmville. With volunteered time, talents, and energies of interested persons and groups in Farmville, VA, the group employs the Main Street Four Point Approach to downtown revitalization in the context of a historic downtown neighborhood. Incorporated in 1798, Farmville grew on the banks of the Appomattox River in the heart of Virginia. The town's economy was fueled by agriculture - primarily, tobacco, manufacturing, and transportation. Farmville is home to two institutions of higher learning: Hampden-Sydney College, founded November11, 1775, and Longwood College - formerly the state teacher's college, or Normal School - founded in 1839. Today, Farmville is a thriving community with business, industry, academia, and civic life all working together to perpetuate the rich legacy of its founders and early leaders. In addition to working with the Town of Farmville, the Main Street organization is working in close partnership with Prince Edward County, both Longwood University and Hampden-Sydney College, retail merchants, service providers, civic and community groups, and interested citizens to strengthen and support historic Farmville's downtown business district.

🎨 Have you checked out the High Bridge Caboose Plaza lately?!

We applied for and received a $1,000 grant from Keep Virginia Beautiful and used it to turn the plaza into an interactive mural playground for the community! 🌈🚂

There are games, paths and different activities painted throughout the space, so take the kids, challenge your friends or just stop by and check it out next time you’re downtown.

This is also a little reminder of what Farmville Downtown Partnership does behind the scenes. We’re constantly looking for grants, partnerships and other opportunities that let us put money right back into downtown Farmville and create spaces that are more fun and inviting for everyone.

Sometimes it’s a big event. Sometimes it’s a project like this. Either way, we love getting to make downtown a little better. 💚

Huge thank you to Keep Virginia Beautiful for helping us make this one happen!

Now go play on it and tag us in your pictures! 🎨🚂
