💚 GO GREEN FOR MENTAL HEALTH TODAY! 💚

We proudly support the national "Go Green for Mental Health" campaign by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month.

Starting today, we encourage our family, friends, and community to join us in raising awareness and standing in solidarity for mental health, especially within Black communities where stigma continues to impact healing, support, and access to care.

Today, we, wear GREEN to show that mental health matters. 💚 When we go green, we break the silence, uplift one another, and remind our community that seeking help is a sign of strength.

Let’s normalize conversations around mental health, support one another, and promote healing in our homes and communities.

📸 Post your green and tag others to join the movement!

For resources, support, and FREE mental health education programs for individuals and families, please visit www.namicoastalvirginia.org.

Together, we wear green. Together, we heal. 💚

Motherhood is a journey where the days feel long and the years are short, yet the love poured into each moment leaves an imprint that lasts a lifetime.

Today we honor our beautiful mothers — those who guide our steps, watch ahead for danger, and pour themselves into others without hesitation. From mothers by birth to grandmothers, godmothers, and every mother figure who stands in the gap, your love is the foundation upon which we stand.

We also hold space for our sisters experiencing the complexity of joy and grief on this day. For those navigating their own experience of becoming a mother, and those missing the presence of theirs — we see you, we are you, and we love you.

To every woman who has ever loved like a mother: your journey has paved the path we walk today. Anchored in the legacy you have built and evolving with the intention you have modeled, we carry you with us in every step forward. Happy Mother's Day!

Today’s decision weakens one of the most important safeguards of our democracy. By narrowing the reach of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, the Court has made it far more difficult to challenge racial discrimination in our electoral system.

For decades, the Voting Rights Act has helped ensure that Black voters and other communities of color have a fair opportunity to be heard. This ruling puts that progress in jeopardy - leaving the door open for maps that dilute representation and silence communities under the cover of partisanship.

Let us be clear: fair representation is not optional in a democracy.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has never wavered in its commitment to voting rights and civic engagement. We will not start now. We will continue to advocate for fair maps, support efforts to strengthen voting protections, and mobilize our communities to make their voices heard.

The path forward demands action, and we intend to meet this moment with clarity, purpose, and resolve.
