Project Host

Project Host Project Host uses food as a tool to nourish the hungry and train the unemployed. To learn more about any of our services please contact us!

At Project Host, we believe food insecurity can only be addressed by the whole community, and we engage the people of Greenville in every step of the process. Our programs support one another and all focus on giving back to the wider Greenville community. Our Soup Kitchen depends on volunteers and can serve as a pipeline into our CC Pearce Culinary School. Our culinary students prepare meals for the Cooking for Kids program and have the opportunity to intern and work in our Bakery and on our HostMobile food truck. These social enterprises, in turn, invite the Greenville community to eat, drink, and be merry, all while giving back to Project Host. Our Gardening for Good program also runs on volunteers and provides our food programs with homegrown produce to bring nutritional value to our meals. The Soup Kitchen offers a balanced, nutritious meal Sunday-Friday (service is 11am-12pm) in a safe, clean, and caring environment to all who are hungry, no questions asked. The CC Pearce Community Culinary School teaches unemployed and underemployed people the skills and knowledge needed to get a job in the food industry and to become more financially stable. Cooking for Kids utilizes our culinary students to make freshly prepared meals for children of low-income families. The goal of the program is to ensure that all children have access to delicious and nutritious food outside of school. Our onsite garden and greenhouse has grown into Gardening for Good, a place for gardening resources and partnerships. The garden provides food for each of our programs and serves as a teaching space for the community. Project Host's food truck and Bakery offer first class meal and catering services that benefit employ our culinary students and graduates and generate income for all of our programs. Still thinking about one heck of a BBQ weekend 🔥🍖

To everyone who came out, brought their families, cheered on the cook teams, grabbed a bite, danced to the music, played in the Kids Zone, bought a raffle ticket, volunteered, sponsored, competed, or simply showed up to support Project Host —THANK YOU! 💛

This weekend wouldn’t be possible without the incredible community that continues to rally around this event and the mission behind it.

We had the best time with you, Greenville. Until next year… keep that BBQ appetite ready! 🔥🎉

An evening of delicious food, beautiful bowls, and a great cause! 🥣✨

Your $100 ticket includes a three-course dinner and a locally handmade bowl to take home — created by a local artist and serving as a lasting reminder of the meal we shared and the fight against hunger happening right here in our community.

Come gather around the table, enjoy an incredible meal, and help us fill more bowls across Greenville 💛

Ever wondered what actually happens when the BBQ competition gets started? 👀🔥

Gene from last year’s winning team, Backwoods Bar-B-Que, gives us a quick look at what goes into the competition — from everyone starting at the same time to injecting, seasoning, cooking, and hoping it all comes together just right🍖

There’s a LOT that goes into that perfect bite!

And we’re about to do it all over again. BBQ weekend starts THIS FRIDAY!🔥

Today we’re celebrating four incredible graduates who brought something truly special into our kitchen 👨‍🍳💛

As participants in the ClemsonLIFE ACES program, these four brought so much joy, energy, kindness, and enthusiasm to their time at Project Host. They became such a meaningful part of our kitchen family, and we genuinely feel so grateful to have had them here.

Together, they prepared 11,320 dinners and 4,580 snacks for 355 kids at 10 sites - an incredible contribution to our Cooking for Kids program and the children we serve across our community.

But beyond the numbers, they brought a kind of joy into our kitchen that we won’t soon forget. We’re so proud of each of them and so thankful they chose to be part of the Project Host family. 🐾🧡

Congratulations, graduates! We can’t wait to see where you go from here! 🎓

The BBQ fun isn’t just for the grown-ups! 🎉

Our Kids Zone will be set up by the main entrance of the stadium and open all weekend with family-friendly fun for our littlest BBQ fans.

Bring the kids, let them play, and make a whole weekend of it at the Project Host BBQ Cook-Off & Festival! We’ll have plenty of food, music, activities, and fun for everyone.
