From building a stronger business to preparing for a new storefront, Quincella Williams, owner of Wax N’ More Studio, is turning her vision into lasting growth. ✨
Before recently earning a 2026 South Carolina Women in Business Award from Greenville Business Magazine, Quincella partnered with CommunityWorks to strengthen her business and plan for what’s next.

Through CommunityWorks training, Quincella earned a grant that helped her build a professional website and expand her marketing efforts. She also opened a Credit Builder Secured Savings account to strengthen her business credit and work toward securing property. With ongoing coaching, access to capital, and connections in the community, Quincella continues to move her business forward.

Her story is a reminder of what can happen when entrepreneurs have access to the right tools, resources, and opportunities to grow.

We kept the affordable housing conversation going last week with our Affordable Housing Practitioner Workshop!
Following the Upstate Affordable Housing Summit, 50 affordable housing practitioners joined CommunityWorks and the South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development (SCACED) for an afternoon focused on the funding tools and resources available to support affordable housing development in South Carolina.
Participants took a deeper dive into federal, state and local funding sources, including how programs are administered, common funding cycles, eligible activities and strategies for combining resources to help bring affordable housing projects to life.
Thank you to everyone who spent the afternoon learning, sharing and connecting with fellow practitioners. And a special thank you to PNC Bank for sponsoring the workshop and helping make this opportunity possible!

We’re still energized by last week’s Upstate Affordable Housing Summit!

The sold-out event brought together more than 100 housing professionals, community advocates, developers, lenders, policymakers and community leaders from across the state. From the economic outlook and housing advocacy to grassroots organizing and locally focused solutions, this year’s summit highlighted the people and partnerships working to address our region’s affordable housing challenges. We were especially inspired by conversations around the grassroots campaign behind HB 4270, as well as the creative approaches happening right here in Greenville and Spartanburg to expand affordable housing and homeownership opportunities.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their expertise and continues to be part of this important work. We’re already looking forward to next year!
