It takes a collaborative effort to keep a community safe and vibrant. The Eastown Community Association is devoted to recruiting volunteers and coordinating activities to maintain the vitality in Eastown. Each year we organize dozens of activities, facilitate public dialogues on key issues and are responsible for thousands of volunteer hours toward neighborhood clean-ups, beautification projects, family-friendly activities, and numerous other projects to improve the quality of life for Eastown residents, business owners, and visitors.

Are you familiar with our Youth & Family Connection Committee?

The Youth & Family Connection Committee is a welcoming group of Eastown volunteers dedicated to bringing families together through fun activities, events, and workshops. We’re all about building connections; not just between neighbors, but also with various non-profit organizations in our community that support our youth. By joining us, you can make a real difference in creating a more engaged and connected community.

The YFCC is responsible for planning family events including Kids' Bazaar, Fun-Filled Fairgrounds, Holiday Craft Night, as well as facilitating initiatives such as the Snow Angels. If this sounds like something you'd like to be involved in, come check us out!

We meet at the ECA (415 Ethel Ave) on the first Tuesday of each month from 7p-8p, so for October that's tomorrow, the 6th. We’d love to see you there!

Eastown Streetfair is starting later today. Our opening time has moved from 9am to 2pm, and we'll be here until 9pm tonight.

Head over to the Fun Filled Fairgrounds (our dedicated kids and family area on Ethel) for our hands-on Tie-Dye Tent!

Here is everything you need to know to get creative:

Bring Your Own Garment: Have a favorite white tee, canvas tote, or pair of socks sitting at home? Bring your own garment to dye for free! (100% cotton recommended)

Youth Shirts Available: We have a limited supply of youth t-shirts on-site available for an optional donation

Grab the kids, pick your favorite colors, and leave with a one-of-a-kind wearable souvenir. See you there on 9/19!

Join us tomorrow for our final community bike ride of the season! We’ll have pizza, snacks, and refreshments, plus our friends of GRPL will be there with resources, swag, information about getting a library card. We can’t wait to see you there!

Hello Eastown!

Commissioner Kilgore is hosting a 3rd Ward Community Conversation on Public Safety today from 5:30–7:00 PM at LifeQuest GR located at 1050 Fisk Road SE 49507

Commissioner Kilgore will be joined by Grand Rapids Police Chief Trigg for an update and conversation about public safety in our community.

This is a chance for you to hear directly from our new Police Chief, ask questions, share your experiences, and talk about how we can continue working together to keep our neighborhoods safe.
