We have been working hard to put the final touches on our summer youth program. Today marked the beginning for another great TBVI adventure. We count it all JOY to be able to share our Farm to Table Experience with our students. We are praying for a wonderful experience for all of students. And we are thanking and praising God for not only blessing and keeping us but for growing our territory. We are so excited and looking forward to seeing what God has in store for us this summer.

We promised our students that we'd take them all horseback riding. Our friends at Layton's RVF were glad to help us show our students a great time.

We had a great time with our students today. We started the afternoon with a lesson about egg collection, cleaning, and storage. We visited a local farm that raises farm fresh eggs. Then we checked on the vegetable garden. Some of the plants were doing extremely well and some sections of the garden had no vegetation. The garden was planted about 4 to 5 weeks. In that time, we've have several hard rains and flooding. We discussed what happens to fields and gardens when there's too much rain. We finished the afternoon with a short nature walk. I know our students had a great time.

Our 2013 Summer Youth Program got off to a great start. I am thanking and praising God as He continues to guide our footsteps. Our goal is to help kids learn and embrace the farm to table experience. As our kids actively participate in all that we do at the farm, they gain a better understanding and appreciation for food and where it comes from. Our program also helps reinforce the importance of buying local. Tune is as our 2013 journey with our students unfolds.

Spring is here. It doesn't look like it or feel like it, but it's definitely here. TBVI is busy fine tuning our plans for the spring and summer months. Please keep TBVI in your daily prayers. As we work to grow our youth program, we pray that GOD will continue to provide all that we stand in need of. Have a great weekend and don't forget to SPRING your clocks forward tonight!

JESUS is the reason for the season! Merry Christmas Everyone!
In Luke chapter 2:16-20 you will find these words...“So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.”

Just finished my first course on Grant Seeking Basics taught for free at the Grand Rapids Public Library. Great Class. Looking forward to attending the next class. TBVI is very serious about turning our vision into reality. The Small Business Resource Center at GRPL is awesome and so it the business Business Librarian. Keep your eye on us!
