Community Ministries Program The Community Ministries Program creates a safe place in our community to learn and grow.

By partnering with our neighborhood, local schools and other nonprofit organizations we are in ministry WITH our community not TO them. The Community Ministries Program at Trinity United Methodist Church exist to support the children and families at Congress Elementary School and the surrounding community. We create opportunities to support individuals and families in our communities and form partnerships with local organizations and business that help better serve our neighbors. We also work closely with the Special Needs Community by helping offer space and programming for the community.

What a great night making self portraits and exploring the kids creativity by doing this fun art project. The older kids in our program (Transitions Program) watched a video and had a great conversation about social media and their digital footprint. We also mixed in a bit of gym time for an action packed evening.

After all this activity we had a great meal thanks to our awesome kitchen team of volunteers that had kids asking to go up for 3rd and 4th helpings. A home style cooked meal sitting around a table is a unique time to get to know the kids and volunteers even better.

As always our volunteers are simply the best humans and we are so lucky to be able to spend time together. Huge shout out to Tori and Shelly for planning this great activity. You rock!

Have a great week everyone!

A great first night with a lot of excited children filling the rooms and halls at Trinity UMC. Loved seeing the kids and parents smiling at drop off and pick up. Today was a nice easy day with "Get to Know You" activities and a little bit of gym time today with the kids Club group. It was so busy I was only able to get a few pics tonight but there will be more next week!

Our Transitions Program did some brainstorming about future programming opportunities and having great conversations as they start their year together.

Overall a great start to our year and can't wait to see all the fun they will have! Huge shout out to our volunteers who help make it all happen! Ya'll rock and we appreciate you so much!

As I've been doing some professional development reading before we are starting our Community Ministries Program (School Year Program) I came across this simple statement, "Love Your Passengers".

You know what? I couldn't agree more...
Since I've started in this role we have had amazing volunteers who have built a very loving community around their shared care for their community. We've had amazing kids that have come through our program, stayed connected and we still get to be a part of their lives while they start their adult lives. We've gotten to meet and become friends with amazing parents who love their kids, love our program and we continue to stay connected to this day.

We love the people we've met along this journey and that comes with many joyful days and sad ones too. We strive to help each other whether you've been here for a minute or 20+ years because we've built a community. Thank You to all those who have been passengers in the Community Ministries Program community in whatever capacity it may be. We love you and we are looking forward to another great year!
