We are just one week away from which is June 5. It became a holiday after Salvation Army “Donut Lassies” traveled overseas to provide emotional and spiritual support, supplies, and other services to our troops on the front lines during World War I. They also provided fresh donuts and hot coffee to soldiers fighting in the trenches in order to raise their spirits and thank them for their service. 🍩Today, the donut serves as a symbol of the comfort that The Salvation Army provides to those in need.
