Our Production Parables series is back with an entry from Jordan Skutar in Beam From the Booth Issue 151! Jordan shares about the balance film workers strive for between making a living and making projects they’re excited about, and how it’s always better to at least ask someone to work below rate rather than assume they’d just say no. It’s a great piece for filmmakers to check out who struggle asking friends to work below their day rate!

About Silent Light
Founded in 2015 by Michael Formanski, The Silent Light is a musical endeavor that breathes new life into classic silent films through the power of live heavy metal. Formanski, composer and film director, crafts each score drawing from the dark and intense realms of black metal, doom metal, and original fantasy soundtracks with influences such as The Body, Sunn O))), Emperor, Summoning, and Nobuo Uematsu. Accompanying Formanski is Matt Hardy, the steadfast drummer who has been a key member for the past several years, along with a rotating ensemble of skilled musicians who contribute to the project’s ever-evolving sound.

The Silent Light’s performances transform silent films like Metropolis, Faust, and Nosferatu into contemporary masterpieces with their haunting and powerful metal scores. They continue to push the boundaries of what silent film scoring can be, inviting audiences to experience the classics in a way they never have before.

See Apocalypse Now restored to its 1979 glory on the big screen at ᴡᴇᴀʟᴛʜʏ ᴛʜᴇᴀᴛʀᴇ on Friday, August 21st at 730pm!

Often hailed as one of the greatest films about war ever made, it’s also about some dudes just trying to surf for a few minutes, but some pesky na**lm is killing the vibe. Just one of many zany scenes in this epic tale of insanity and the American spirit.

There are no credits in this version of the film, but attendees will get a collectible re-print of the original 12-page souvenir booklet.
