Congratulations to this year's scholarship recipients - Anna Jones, Brenten Stephens, and Julia Carlson!

Each year, the Outdoor Lab Foundation offers scholarship opportunities to high school students who have served as either high school leaders or interns at the Outdoor Lab Schools.

This was a particularly strong group of applicants. The review committee felt inspired by the tremendous insight and impact of the Outdoor Lab experience shared by each of the applicants. Thank you to everyone who applied!

We had the opportunity to work alongside National Charity League today! NCL volunteers helped to remove mullein (an invasive plant species) from the Mt. Blue Sky campus. While w**ding isn’t always the most sought after task, it is essential in acting as stewards of the Outdoor Lab sites. Excellent work, NCL! Thank you all for your service! Looking to get involved? We celebrated the contributions of our Volunteer of the Year, Devin Hughes, at After Dark this year.

Devin was a five-time High School Leader and an intern at Windy Peak during the 2023-2024 school year. He continues to support Outdoor Lab by jumping in to help wherever needed during site visits. In addition, Devin is an active volunteer with the Foundation, contributing to our community outreach and fundraising efforts.

Thank you to all of the individuals and teams who ran the Colfax Marathon for the Outdoor Lab Foundation! We had a great weekend sharing Outdoor Lab Foundation with the community and appreciate our volunteers who helped make that possible.

Check out this spectacular evening program for students from North Arvada Middle School at Outdoor Lab earlier this spring. Students at both Windy Peak and Mt. Blue Sky painted tile pieces to be combined and installed back at their home school. It came out beautifully!

Manning finished out a successful year for Outdoor Lab last week!

We were able to celebrate our Partners of the Year at After Dark this year. Huge shout out to Jefferson Conservation District and the Colorado State Forest Service!

JCD and CSFS have been working hard to improve the forest health on both mountain campuses. They have been instrumental in implementing defensible space and other wildfire mitigation efforts. JCD and CSFS have also been working with us to better understand how we use the properties and also advised on the development of our Fire Ecology class. Lastly, they now run evening programs on forest health for our students.
