What do sixth graders really think about their week at Outdoor Lab? We asked, and more than 1,000 students shared their thoughts!

From discovering new interests and building connections with High School Leaders to learning the importance of stewardship, students reflected on their experiences and how they'll carry those lessons into everyday life.

We were honored to participate in Jefferson County Parks and Open Space’s 2026 National Public Land Day celebration last week!

We tabled alongside over 20 likeminded organizations and vendors at Bear Creek Lake Park which hosted the celebration.

We visited with, and thanked, the over 380 volunteers who fanned out across the area to give back to our cherished public lands through 11 unique stewardship projects.

We think archery is a pretty neat way to learn about the forces of movement—think potential energy, kinetic energy and friction!

Help us keep this outdoor classroom looking its best by giving the archery range deck a fresh coat of paint.

The Foundation is grateful for the support of High School Interns this year! They are helping us with community outreach events spreading the word on how awesome Outdoor Lab is! We asked Jules to introduce herself. Please give her a warm Outdoor Lab welcome!

"Hi, I’m Jules! I’m a senior at Lakewood High School, and an intern with the Outdoor Lab Foundation. I love camping, hiking, lake days, and all things outdoors! Last fall, I was a High School Leader with Outdoor Lab, and I’m excited to hopefully return a few more times this year. I work at a local ice cream shop and run multiple clubs at my school. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, going to concerts, doing crafts, baking, taking long drives, and exploring new places. I grew up going to summer camp and have spent the past few summers as both a counselor and program planner. I find working with kids and spending time in nature so rewarding. After high school, I plan to study outdoor education and adventure leadership in college, and I’m excited to continue sharing my passion for the outdoors with others through this internship."

Welcome Jules!!!!
