Jeffco Schools Foundation was incorporated in 1983 as The Jefferson Foundation, an independent 501c3 nonprofit organization, by a group of citizens concerned with maintaining the high quality of Jeffco Public Schools, then and now. Jefferson County Public Schools is Colorado's largest school district, with 85,000 students in 154 schools over 780 square miles. About 35%, or close to 30,000 students

, live in or near poverty, and Jeffco has the highest number of homeless students of any school district in Colorado. Despite these obstacles, Jeffco continues to lead the nation in educational excellence: Jeffco ranks third among large school districts in the country for its high graduation rates. Though the look of the Foundation may have changed over time, it continues to pursue big ideas in education and bright futures for Jeffco students. We are still smiling thinking about this past Saturday! 🎒✨

What an incredible day at the 3rd Annual Jeffco Back-to-School Bash! We had so much fun celebrating with all the Jeffco families, students, and neighbors who came out to Jeffco Stadium. Even with the August heat, those passing clouds kept the energy high all afternoon! ☁️☀️

You know the power of early learning.

Because of the generosity of our community, many of Jeffco’s youngest learners are already thriving. But this year, the demand for Pre-K resources has surpassed our current funding capacity.

We’re in the final push to reach our $100,000 Educator Grant goal, and more than 100 Jeffco teachers have ready-to-launch projects waiting for support. These projects directly strengthen early learning, social-emotional development, and classroom engagement.

$500 can fund a new sensory exploration station for a class of four-year-olds.

$250 can provide imaginative play materials that help preschoolers build creativity, confidence, and social skills.

Your support moves these projects from “pending” to fully funded—ensuring students get the hands-on learning experiences they deserve.
