Jeffco Schools Foundation

Jeffco Schools Foundation Colorado's oldest, continuous, education foundation securing resources for Jeffco County Schools. OUR VISION - Every Jeffco student thrives.

Jeffco Schools Foundation was incorporated in 1983 as The Jefferson Foundation, an independent 501c3 nonprofit organization, by a group of citizens concerned with maintaining the high quality of Jeffco Public Schools, then and now. Jefferson County Public Schools is Colorado's largest school district, with 85,000 students in 154 schools over 780 square miles. About 35%, or close to 30,000 students

, live in or near poverty, and Jeffco has the highest number of homeless students of any school district in Colorado. Despite these obstacles, Jeffco continues to lead the nation in educational excellence: Jeffco ranks third among large school districts in the country for its high graduation rates. Though the look of the Foundation may have changed over time, it continues to pursue big ideas in education and bright futures for Jeffco students. OUR MISSION - Jeffco Schools Foundation is a fundraising partner of the Jeffco Public Schools district. We cultivate partnerships to ensure Jeffco students thrive through equitable, excellent, and engaging educational experiences. OUR VALUES -
Equity
In Jeffco, not all students, staff, and families are starting from the same place nor do they need the same things to reach their fullest potential. We align our approach to equity with the district to ensure that our investments result in the greatest impact to those most in need. We strive to support educational experiences that are accessible and help students from all backgrounds feel a sense of welcoming and belonging. Excellence
In Jeffco, we aspire to be a world-class school district which requires us to inspire one another to make an impact, focus on solutions, maximize our partnerships, and hold ourselves accountable for successful outcomes for all students. Engagement
The Foundation works alongside the Jeffco Schools District, its staff, students, partners, and community to collaborate and move to action. Quality education is a right for every student, and community engagement and alignment is essential for providing that to our wide district.

You know the power of early learning.

Because of the generosity of our community, many of Jeffco’s youngest learners are already thriving. But this year, the demand for Pre-K resources has surpassed our current funding capacity.

We’re in the final push to reach our $100,000 Educator Grant goal, and more than 100 Jeffco teachers have ready-to-launch projects waiting for support. These projects directly strengthen early learning, social-emotional development, and classroom engagement.

$500 can fund a new sensory exploration station for a class of four-year-olds.

$250 can provide imaginative play materials that help preschoolers build creativity, confidence, and social skills.

Your support moves these projects from “pending” to fully funded—ensuring students get the hands-on learning experiences they deserve.

If you’re able, please consider making a gift today to help our youngest learners thrive. 💛📚

The first weeks of school should be an exciting time, but for many Jeffco students, it’s a struggle just to show up with the basics they need to learn.

➡️ Did you know 1 in 3 Jeffco Public Schools - Colorado students come from a low-income household? With current funding uncertainties, it’s becoming even harder for teachers and schools to provide essential items like supplies, warm clothing, and snacks.

That’s where the Jeffco Schools Foundation - and generous supporters like you - step in.

Your gift today ensures students have what they need to focus on learning, not worrying.
✅ $25 = snacks for a classroom
✅ $50 = art supplies for a student
✅ $100 - classroom essentials
✅ $250 = transportation for students to access critical programs

This school year, thousands of students are counting on us. Together, we can make sure every Jeffco student has the chance to thrive.

On August 15, the Jeffco Schools Foundation Board gathered for our annual retreat: a time to reflect, reimagine, and recommit to our vision that every Jeffco student thrives.

Hosted at Green Mountain High School's 'Career Hub' - proudly funded and supported by the Foundation - our board spent the afternoon building connections and sparking new, innovative ideas to better support students, educators, and families across the district.

With a new school year on the horizon and inspirational words from Jeffco Public Schools - Colorado's Superintendent and Board Member, Tracy Dorland, our team are filled with excitement for the impactful work ahead. Together with our community, educators, and partners, we’re building opportunities that lift up students and strengthen Jeffco schools.

Here’s to a year of growth, connection, and success for every student, every classroom, and every school in Jeffco! 💙💚
