About the Workshop:

This engaging 3-day workshop is focused on painting the visually exciting world of the working waterfront and landscapes with man-made structures. Using source material, students will learn to simplify and integrate natural and fabricated elements, as well as to organize composition and color with clear intention. Small-group immersion, demonstrations, short lectures, and one-on-one guidance help ensure visible progress in your work.

Registration is now open on our website https://meetinghousearts.org/event/painting-the-working-waterfront-with-philip-frey/

On October 28, we tried something both simple and difficult.

We stopped talking and began listening.

Meetinghouse Arts and the Freeport First Parish Church invited people into a conversation about the historic First Parish Church building—and about the role arts, culture and history might play in the future of downtown Freeport.

Some thirty people showed up from all aspects of the community.

Read what they said, what we took away, and what happens now at The Meetinghouse Experiment, a new blog by Executive Director Suzanne Watson on the making of an arts nonprofit, available on Substack: https://shorturl.at/XGQ5J

Please join us for our next Community Listening Session on Wednesday, November 11 at 6:00pm
