Catahoula Rescue of New England Catahoula and heeler rescue focused on saving the lives of those that need it most. Please be aware that Catahoula Rescue is not a shelter or sanctuary.

Today was Ragnarok's second day of transport from TX to TN and we won't lie it was a bit rough in the beginning yesterday. This poor guy was a bit stressed not knowing what was going on and where he was going and why there was so many people taking part in this thing with so many cars and BAM! He had a lot of Diarra, for which he was really sorry about. Once he understood, everyone was trying to help and he was going to be ok, he was ok! He was just so scared, shy and confused.
Today was much better! he had a great overnight and some longer legs, but now is in TN to get the rehab he needs and tools to get ready to be available for adoption!
We also have such great transporters, and we appreciate the dedication time and respect what they give up to help. Transporters are the key to rescue; without them we could not do what we do.
We want to thank our volunteers from today that gave up their day, time and miles to help: Diana R., Candy ., Georgia L., Kitty W., and Jen and Aaron B., also thank you to TC Heather T!

Today was Ragnarok's first day of transport from TX to TN and we won't lie it was a bit rough in the beginning. We also have such great transporters, and we appreciate the dedication time and respect what they give up to help. Transporters are the key to rescue; without them we could not do what we do. Every once in a blue moon we do have a volunteer that offers to help and doesn't take it seriously, today we had one and they left us in the lurch. However, one of the other stepped and took her place and we cannot say thank you enough.

With that I would like to thank Bob P., Elizabeth V., Emily D., Penelope P., and Lisa B. for helping us with transporting today and Heather P for being our steadfast transport coordinator.

$115 Non-Spayed Female (covers spay surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test and microchip)
$110 Non-Neutered Males (covers neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test and microchip)
$35 Fixed Male or Female (covers impound fee, rabies vaccine, heartworm test and microchip)

501c3 rescues can pull for free (does not cover spay/neuter)

Rescues must provide spay/neuter paperwork to Highlands County Animal Services within 30 days

Please be aware that when you adopt a dog/cat from Animal Services and they go to the veterinarian for their spay/neuter surgery, they will charge you a small fee for a bath & flea/tick prevention.

THEY LOST THEIR HOME......
NOW THEY NEED SOMEWHERE TO CALL HOME

Meet Echo, Charlie, Tyler, Whisper, Stitch, Patch, Pixel, and Glitch...... they were surrendered after their owner lost her home in a devastating house fire.
Through no fault of their own, these eight dogs are now waiting for a second chance.
They didn't ask for their world to change.
They just need someone to love them through it.
Please turn their heartbreak into hope.....Because after losing so much, they deserve a happy ending.
Please note: Echo and Whisper (both white dogs) are partially blind and deaf - a condition that occured before the fire.
We will be posting individual pictures and information on each one-please call us to meet any of these sweet babies.

I really want to highlight this article as something people that look at Catahoulas should read. We get too many people that come to us with "adopter's regret" as they do not think first before they adopt and then decide to get rid of the dog or hold on to it and simply do not do right by it. Then the dog is in such a bad state it is hard to rehome.
