In honor of Pediatric Feeding Disorder (PFD) Awareness Month, we’re sharing a reminder for families: feeding therapy helps kids safely expand foods and textures—at their own pace. 💙
Feeding challenges like refusing entire food groups, only accepting specific textures, or mealtimes that feel stressful can happen at any age. When a child’s limited diet begins to impact growth, nutrition, or family routines, a speech-language pathologist (SLP) can help using evidence-based strategies to build comfort and tolerance with new foods—while also supporting mealtime routines and reducing anxiety around eating.
Try these low-pressure ideas at home:
🎨 Food Art (explore without pressure to eat)
👨🍳 Junior Chef (kids are more likely to try foods they help prepare)
📚 Food-Themed Storytime (read about foods, then explore them together)
If mealtimes feel overwhelming, you’re not alone. Our team is here to help! Call 615-550-1451 to schedule an Initial Evaluation.
