Your life is a precious gift God has given you to steward. Each day is another opportunity to cherish that life, or to let it slip by unnoticed.

Healthy discipline means considering the whole person God created you to be: physical, emotional, intellectual, relational, and spiritual, and making choices that nourish each part. What that looks like will be different for you than it is for someone else.

Ask God to give you wisdom today about how to walk that out, and strength to make the choices that honor Him. 🧡

"Listen to instruction and be wise; do not ignore it." - Proverbs 8:33 (NIV)

Emily came to FINDINGbalance® at a low point, feeling out of control and believing lies about who she was. Then she found the Old School Food Freedom podcast.

"Words cannot adequately express what those words did for my heart, my mind, and my soul. I then discovered the FINDINGbalance family (because that is EXACTLY what they are) and have healed and grown in ways I never thought possible."

"I can now say that I love the Emily God made me." 🧡

This is what your support makes possible. Stories like Emily's, women finding freedom because someone believed this ministry was worth investing in.

"I agreed to cooperate with this treatment plan and allow Jesus to come into my heart just a little bit. While I was there, I met a girl my age who was fighting leukemia. She had to use a feeding tube just like mine, yet there was a major difference between her thoughts and mine regarding the tube. She welcomed it with immense joy as she knew her body needed the extra calories to fight her cancer. I, on the other hand, resented and despised my tube with all my being seeing it only as a way for my medical team to “make me fat.” But Jesus began to change my heart and mind…"

None of us can fully meet our own needs, no matter how hard we try. That striving, that constant effort to control and manage everything ourselves, is often what leaves us so tired.

Only God can truly meet what we need. And He meets us most fully when we turn to Him instead of relying on ourselves for hope, health, and provision.

Working harder to earn a sense of peace will only wear you out and steal your joy. Instead, ask God today to help you trust Him, even with the needs you've been carrying on your own for a long time. 🧡

"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:19 (NIV)

It is hard to live in a body in this world. The enemy uses diet culture to twist that reality into claims about sin, discipline, and obedience. It's destructive. We know what it's like to feel pressure to change your body just to feel worthy.

Jesus does not reserve His love, care, and calling for people based on their body size. He tells us He is gentle and humble, and that's how He interacts with us, too. So those unkind thoughts, that shame over your body, doesn't come from Him.

Your body size is not a sin, and it isn't a measure of your value or identity. Jesus gives us our identity, in the all-encompassing love and uniquely complete relationship He designed us for with Him.

Next time those unkind thoughts creep in, come back to this breath prayer. Let it remind you of what's true. 🧡

"You are what you eat" gets a lot of airtime. But truer is "you are what you think."

If you believe your body is a problem, you'll live like it's true, no matter where you fall on the weight continuum.

But believing you are beautiful and valuable? THAT changes things too. It changes how you carry yourself. It changes how others see you.

Ask Jesus to reshape your thinking today. Not so you'll look different. So you can live the life you were made for. 🧡

"The meltdown arrived right on schedule. And right behind it came the voice I know far too well. The one that doesn't miss an opportunity.

You're a horrible person. A horrible pet parent. A horrible neighbor. A horrible wife. How could you lose it like that? Your husband is so disappointed in you. And so is Jesus, especially after what He just spoke to you. You should be ashamed of yourself."
