‼️ EVENT POSTPONED: Astronomy Between the Trees ‼️

Unfortunately, due to anticipated cloud cover this evening, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone our Astronomy Between the Trees event for Tree Week. 🌥️

Although it is sunny now, a large shield of clouds is supposed to overspread Kentucky this evening due to the incoming hurricane. Even light, high clouds create unsuitable conditions for astronomy.

Please stay tuned for the announcement about the new date! We look forward to exploring the stars with you soon! 💫

We love watching the next generation of environmental stewards learn, grow, and create! 🌎✨

Kids had a blast at Greenfest last month learning from our environmental educators about sustainability, reusing everyday materials, and ways they can help care for the environment. Families also got the chance to explore Buckley's trails through our self-guided scavenger hunt and fishing at the pond! 🎣

Enjoyed Greenfest? Join us at Buckley again during Tree Week on October 9 from 6:30–9:00pm for Astronomy Between the Trees! Experience the sanctuary like never before as we explore the night sky beneath the canopy. This all-ages event is free to attend, but registration is required. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for one of our Monarch Tagging Events at the Toyota Georgetown Biodiversity Trail! 🦋

Participants had the opportunity to learn about monarch conservation, help tag migrating butterflies, and contribute to an important community science effort. Every tag helps researchers better understand the incredible journey monarchs make each fall to their overwintering grounds in Mexico.

Want to see if our monarchs make it to Mexico? Tag numbers are listed in the comments below! Monarch recoveries are typically reported in February/March and posted to monarchwatch.org in April/May. We’ll be excitedly watching for updates and hope to see some of our tagged monarchs on the list!

Thank you for helping support monarch conservation and making this event such a success. Safe travels, monarchs! 🧡🖤
