Join us Tuesday, August 25 at 6:00 ET for a session led by the University of Louisville's Dr. Caroline Sheffield, who will be conducting a session centered on the question: Why do we celebrate Labor Day?

Participants who attend will be provided with classroom-ready materials and will also be eligible to receive a professional learning certificate for their attendance.

Explore the Kentucky Historical Society’s latest exhibit, “Revolution to Statehood,” and walk away with classroom-ready resources alongside a deeper insight into Kentucky’s beginnings… Featuring educational resources shared by Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello.

The first 15 educators who register will have their substitute services reimbursed by the Kentucky Historical Society, allowing them to attend on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM

WE ARE SO EXCITED to announce the launch of our Kentucky Council for the Social Studies 2026 Conference Website! This will take the place of our conference program and will stay updated throughout the coming weeks.

On the website, you can check your KCSS membership, which automatically registers you to the conference, as well as confirm your attendance for our gathering Saturday, September 12.

You can see our keynotes with Dr. Ryan New from iCivics and Annie Evans from New American History and the University of Richmond, as well as the 20 session offerings we have set in place for our day. Also included are our current committed sponsorship/partners that will be at our vendor fair.
