Sometimes, asking for help is the most loving thing you can do. ❤️
These little Chihuahuas came to us from an overwhelmed caretaker who loved them and did their best to care for them. But sometimes, even with all of the best intentions and love in the world, a situation can become more than one person can manage. What started as a loving home with just a few dogs, quickly turned into 11 dogs and simply became too much.
After seeing the story of the Pomeranians we helped in a similar situation, their owner reached out to Humane Fort Wayne for assistance and we are so glad they did. We were able to bring 9 of the Chihuahuas into our care, where they will be available for adoption over the next few days, while also helping the owner get the remaining dogs spayed and neutered so they could responsibly keep 2 of their beloved companions.
This is what compassion looks like. It's choosing to ask for help before things become unmanageable. It's meeting people with understanding instead of judgement. This is why Humane Fort Wayne is here, so we can work together to give animals the safe, happy futures they deserve. 🩵
These Chihuahuas were loved. Now, they are ready to find families who will love them for the rest of their lives. Visit our website to see all of our adoptable pets and to fill out your application. 🐾
