Every fall, as the leaves turn, we start hearing a familiar word: flu. 🍂

So what is it? Influenza is a common virus affecting the nose, throat, and lungs. It spreads through coughs, sneezes, and talking, mostly from fall through spring.

Most healthy people recover in about a week at home. But young children, older adults, pregnant people, and those with health conditions may need extra care, which is why slowing the spread matters so much.

Update: As of Oct. 9, Indiana’s cases increased to 30. Additional case added to Wayne County’s count - taking their total to 8.

Update: As of Oct. 8, cases increased to 29 due to an additional case In Adams County.

Update as of Oct. 7, Indiana’s measles cases increased by two to 28. Additional cases in LaGrange and Wayne Counties.

As of today, October 5, Indiana’s measles cases increased by one to 26 since last Friday and an additional county- Miami, was added to the map.

🏈 A mumps outbreak has sidelined multiple members of the San Diego State football team, serving as a reminder that vaccine-preventable diseases can really impact schools, teams, workplaces, and communities.

The MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine is the best way to protect against mumps and help prevent outbreaks.

Getting to a clinic isn't always easy, so we're coming to you! Helping our seniors stay healthy and protected this season is what it's all about. 💙

⚡ Chargers, let's go! The Super Shot team was on campus at West Noble High School this morning, and we brought some backup: our nursing student from Indiana Wesleyan University is joining us to help students get up-to-date and school compliant with their vaccines!

Huge thanks to our future nurses for their hard work, and to every Charger stepping up to protect themselves, their classmates, and their family! 💪
