United Way of Allen County’s Day of Caring at Josephine’s Place!

A huge thank you to United Way of Allen County and this amazing group of friends for spending their Day of Caring with us! They’re rolling up their sleeves to deep clean, organize, and spruce up around the shelter.

We’re especially grateful that this is the second year this group has chosen to spend the day with us. Thank you for your continued support and for helping make Josephine’s Place a welcoming home for the women we serve! 🩷

What a busy weekend for Josephine’s Place!

🛍️ We hosted a garage sale to raise funds for the shelter. Thank you to everyone who donated, shopped, and helped!

⚾ We joined the TinCaps for their Community Corner, sharing our mission and highlighting the work happening at Josephine’s Place.

🎓 And our Executive Director graduated from the AVOW Advancing Voices of Women Campaign Institute! We’re proud to see her continue growing as a leader and bringing that knowledge back to our organization.

🎉 Happy One-Year Anniversary, Mary! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating Mary and her first year with Josephine’s Place!

As our Phase II Skills Coach, Mary plays an important role in helping women build the confidence and life skills they need to achieve lasting stability. She coordinates engaging educational workshops for our guests, provides encouragement and support every step of the way, and proudly represents Josephine’s Place at community meetings, helping strengthen the partnerships that make our mission possible.

We are thrilled to be among the 21 nonprofits that received funding from Mayor Sharon Tucker and the City of Fort Wayne Government . This funding helps to ensure women have a safe place to start again!

Approximately $360,000 will support local nonprofits providing shelter, basic needs, employment assistance, and youth development opportunities for low- and moderate-income residents.
