What a busy week at Just Neighbors! ❤️
We’re so grateful for the people who show up and remind us just how powerful community can be.

As part of United Way’s Day of Caring, the amazing team from Lippert spent the day at Just Neighbors. They painted several bedrooms and helped clean and prepare another so a new family could move in that very same day. 🏠

That’s the impact of volunteers. What may seem like a simple day of painting and cleaning can make a huge difference for a family arriving at a difficult moment. It helps create a space that feels safe, welcoming, and ready for a fresh start.

And while all of this was happening, construction is in full swing on our new overnight program! There’s a lot happening at Just Neighbors, and we’re excited about what’s ahead.

We couldn’t do this work without our community. Thank you to Lippert for spending your Day of Caring with us, and to everyone who gives their time, energy, and heart to help our neighbors. 💙

🚧 CONSTRUCTION IS UNDERWAY! 🚧

After months of planning, fundraising, dreaming, and working toward a bigger vision for families experiencing homelessness in our community, we are thrilled to share that construction on our Emergency Overnight Shelter is officially underway! ❤️

This is a huge milestone for Just Neighbors, and an even bigger step forward for the families who will soon have a safe place to sleep when they have nowhere else to go.

Our Emergency Overnight Shelter will provide families with a safe, welcoming place to stay overnight while connecting them with resources and the support they need to move toward stability.

But we aren't finished yet. We are still raising the funds needed to complete the project and open our expanded overnight program this fall. Every gift, every business partnership, every church collection, and every person who shares our story helps us get closer.

Construction has started. Now we need our community to help us finish strong.

Help us make sure that when a family calls and says, “We have nowhere to go tonight,” we can say:

“Come in. We have a safe place for you.”

Today Abby, our family Case Manager got to spend some time playing with one of the kiddos staying at JN.
This little guy is why we work so hard everyday. To ensure he has a safe place to sleep, food in his belly and a pathway for his family to obtain and maintain stable housing.

This is a day our community has been working toward for a long time.

Construction is officially starting on Just Neighbors' expansion to create an emergency overnight shelter for families experiencing homelessness. Every wall that goes up brings us one step closer to ensuring that no child has to sleep in a car or an unsafe place while waiting for shelter.

I'm grateful to 21Alive for helping share our story and to everyone who has supported this project so far. Your generosity is making this possible.

While we're celebrating this exciting milestone, our work isn't finished. We still need to raise the remaining funds to open the overnight shelter this November. If you've been looking for a way to make a lasting difference for families in our community, now is the time.

We are grateful for the cities support. Every dollar moves families closer to stability.
Our community is blessed to have so many wonderful agencies making big impact in our city.

Approximately $360,000 will support local nonprofits providing shelter, basic needs, employment assistance, and youth development opportunities for low- and moderate-income residents.
