A PROGRAM is a structured, intentional, and organized system of activities, services, resources, policies, and measurable objectives designed to achieve a specific purpose or produce defined outcomes for a particular group of people over a period of time. Rather than being a single event or isolated service, a program is a coordinated framework that brings together people, processes, education, support, accountability, and evaluation to create meaningful and lasting change.

Here at YMOA INC we believe in providing progress programming, which is a database of over 72 different classes, courses, workshops, activities, and events specifically design to help promote growth, accountability, and life skills through education on real life topics.

Our goal is to act as a holistic safety net providing support encouragement and guidance to each member while they navigate world barriers , at risk, behaviors, trauma, and overcoming environmental habits.

At YMOA INC, we believe that some of life’s greatest lessons are learned around the table.

We are so very thankful to the St. Joseph Community Health Foundation for investing in our community through grant funding that makes the HEAL Initiative (Healthy Eating Active Living) possible. Your support allows us to continue bringing meaningful nutrition education, wellness, and family-centered programming to at risk and underserved communities throughout Fort Wayne.

The Hood Kitchen is much more than a cooking class—it’s a place where 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘦 comes alive.

Together, members :
🥕 Learn practical nutrition and healthy eating habits.
👩🏾‍🍳 Share and swap cultural recipes passed down through their family trees.
👵🏽👧🏽 Experience intergenerational cooking with children, parents, grandparents, and neighbors.
❤️ Build stronger relationships through conversation, laughter, bloopers and shared meals.
🌱 Discover how gathering around the table and in the kitchen can strengthen families, encourage healthy lifestyles, and create lasting memories.

Food has always had the power to connect people. Through the Hood Kitchen, we’re helping families reclaim that connection while learning healthier choices that can be carried from one generation to the next.

🌿 YMOA INC Annual Office Shutdown 🌿

At YMOA INC, we believe that the best way to serve our community is by ensuring our team is healthy, renewed, and prepared to give their very best.

Please note that our office will be closed Monday, July 27 through Friday, July 31 for our Annual Office Shutdown. During this time, our staff will step away to rest, renew, and recharge as we prepare for the second half of the year.

Those who serve in social services understand that compassion fatigue is real. Every day, our team pours into the lives of individuals and families navigating housing instability, crisis, trauma, and life transitions. To continue serving from a place of love, kindness, empathy, and excellence, it is important that we also make time to care for those who care for others.

As Scripture reminds us: ✝️

“Come away by yourselves to a quiet place and rest a while.”
— Mark 6:31

We appreciate your patience and understanding as our team takes this intentional time of renewal. Regular office hours will resume on Monday, August 3.

We look forward to returning refreshed and ready to continue serving, loving, and authentically caring for the members and residents of our community throughout the remainder of the year.

Today with 𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘏𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘋𝘦𝘤𝘬 , our members learned how to restore , patch and cover blemishes in drywall.

They were also trained on how to properly install an exterior door.

The men in our male initiative program are learning key skills that they will be able to carry with them all of their life, while also performing real work and real sweat equity into each project . ✨

All hands on deck 📢 progress programming:

Is a program specifically for men in YMOA INC  housing who are unemployed .

This program is intended to get the men in YMOA INC engaged in Community Service while preparing them for the workforce by building fundamental skills and sharpening work ethic and leadership.

In transparency, this program was created so that men who have a significant other who is engaged in the workforce are not idle or sitting around the house waiting for their significant other to return home.

The goal is to create purpose within the heart of the “ the head of the household “ while encouraging him to build a healthy lifestyle for his family ✨
