Join us November 21–22 for Snake Farm CX, hosted by the Steve Tilford Foundation and Move Up Cycling Club, with support from Sunflower Outdoor & Bike.

There’s a race for everyone: masters, juniors, single-speed, first-timers, and free races for our youngest riders. Bring the family, bring some friends, and come race (or heckle) with us.

Every entry helps support local youth cycling programs like Let’s Ride!, which puts bikes in the hands of Lawrence second-graders.

Steve Tilford loved bikes, and he loved sharing that with anyone he could, especially kids. We started Let’s Ride! to keep that going.

Last week we gave 406 new bikes and helmets to second graders at eight schools in Lawrence. We had a lot of help to make this happen. The Lawrence Schools Foundation coordinated with the schools for months. Kurt and his crew at Transform Co took in 30 pallets of bikes and helmets, gave us space to build, and jumped in to help during the days we were there. A couple dozen volunteers spent hours, and in some cases multiple days, helping us get it done.

Every bike was met with a big smile. Some kids were immediately riding no-hands and trying to pop their front wheel off the ground. Others had never ridden without training wheels, or had never been on a bike at all. Seeing that range really showed us how different these kids’ experiences with bikes have been.

Giving these kids the opportunity to learn to ride, explore, and experience the unique joy that comes with riding a bike is the best way we could honor Steve. We know he would be so proud of what we’ve accomplished, and we can’t wait to see where these kids ride next.

The inaugural STF Epic is in the books, and the results are live.

Rain, reroutes, and a course that kept changing right up to the night before. You rolled with all of it.

These are the final routes for tomorrow. Because of the rain, the Lawrence River Trail won't be rideable, so every course except the Half Slice has been updated. Sorry folks!

Heads up on GPS: When you enter the KU Field Station and Snake Farm Ranch, ignore your GPS and follow the well-marked course. Once you turn back onto a road leaving the Ranch, your GPS will pick the course back up.

Registration Update

Online registration closes at 12:00 PM today. In-person registration reopens at packet pickup today from 4-8 PM at Sunflower Outdoor and Bike, and again on race morning from 6:30-7:30 AM.

First day of the Let’s Ride! Program is complete!

For many of these kids, this was their first bike ever. For others, they’ve ridden before, but this was the first new bike they could call their own. Watching the excitement on the kids’ faces was pretty special, but so was seeing the joy from the parents we met as they picked up their kids’ bikes.

There were a lot of smiles, a lot of riding, and a whole lot of happy kids today.

A huge thank you to the Lawrence Schools Foundation, USD 497, and all of the volunteers and staff who have put in many hours to make this happen. It takes a lot of people behind the scenes to get hundreds of bikes assembled, matched to students, helmets fitted, and everything ready to roll.

We couldn’t be more excited for Day 2. Tomorrow, we get to do it all over again and give even more kids a new bike to call their own.

- Packet pickup, 4-8 PM. Come grab yours ahead of race morning.
- Happy Hour, 4-8 PM
- Shakeout ride, 1.5 hours at a 14-15 mph pace from Sunflower to Snake Farm Ranch and back. More details coming soon.

6:30 AM | Registration opens
7:30 AM | Registration closes
8:00 AM | Ride start, two waves (Pies then Slices)
10:30 AM | Post-ride food and beverage available
11:00 AM | First round of podiums
12:30 PM | Second round of podiums
