Our September meeting will look a little bit different! 📣

🕛TODAY (Sep 2), from 5:30-7:30, instead of our normal 6 pm
📍Crisis Brewing

Fayetteville Strong will be presenting at the League of Women Voters for their Drinks & Dialogue series. LMV also meets on the first Wednesday of each month so it will happen in lieu of our regular September meeting. The meeting will be held at Crisis Brewing and starts at 5:30 PM and we encourage Fayetteville Strong members to attend! 🙌

We'll be sharing about Fayetteville Strong and talking about issues like smart growth, safe and productive streets, and more! We hope to encourage the LMV to consider Strong Towns ideas in the work they do vetting candidates at the local, state, and federal level.

Hope to see you there! 🎊

Join us tomorrow, Wednesday August 5th, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for our August meeting!

Kelly Rich, Executive Director for the Downtown Fayetteville Coalition will be joining us again to discuss how grassroots groups like Fayetteville Strong could get involved in setting up pop up parklets in downtown to activate curbside parking spaces for outdoor dining, green space, or other innovative ideas to serve as a proof of concept and build support from businesses.

Will also discuss recent major improvements in transit, several Tactical Urbanism project proposals, & more!

As always, join us after the meeting at Ozark and Central foods for a more casual hang!

Our very own Nathan McCloskey & Clark Eckels recently made a guest appearance on the Strong Towns podcast, Bottom Up Revolution, to talk about our Rethink the Lot installation.

In the episode entitled, "Could these Parking Spaces Be Homes?", they discuss our group's efforts to start local conversations about land use, parking reform, & housing affordability. We encourage you to give it a listen and consider what we give up when we prioritize private car storage over creating places for people. The episode is available wherever you listen to podcasts.

Thank you, Tiffany Owens, for having us on the pod! We hope this podcast helps inspire our fellow advocates from around the country to make positive change in their places.

Congratulations to and on another incredible Strawberry Festival!

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our Rethink the Lot installation to help us decorate our new benches with a ton of beautiful and unique strawberries! We are seriously impressed with everyone's artistic skills.

Today might have been the Strawberry Festival, but the amount of space that Fayetteville dedicates to surface parking is bananas!

Come Rethink the Lot with us at our installation on Center and Church through Wednesday (5/20) afternoon and consider what we could create if we prioritize building places for people over car storage.

Join us tomorrow, May 6th, at 6:00pm for our monthly meeting! 🙌

This month will be a bit different than normal as Rethink the Lot is coming up quickly. Along with some logistical planning, we'll also be doing some advocacy training so volunteers feel prepared and supported during the event. We'll cover talking points, what to expect, and how to respond to common situations.

Can't make it Wednesday, but still want to volunteer? Please let us know! We would love to have you there! 🫶

As always, you're welcome to join for a post-meeting hang over at ONF. We hope to see you at one or both of these events! 🥳
