We are a new local nonpartisan, nonprofit focused on registering new voters here in Northwest Arkansas. We are hiring a team of talented, paid specialists to cover Benton and Washington counties in the coming days and weeks this fall.

Our mission is to dramatically increase participation in voting and governance to support a thriving Northwest Arkansas that puts our state first. We are committed to cooking with the right ingredients: research-driven best practices, ongoing program evaluation systems, encouraging new innovations, metrics-based analyses, and the utilization of up-to-date technologies and systems to engage the public in our efforts to increase civic engagement in Northwest Arkansas.

We have a few more shifts available in Washington and Benton counties. Experience is a plus, but not required.

Please note: We make sure that all our employees and contractors are safe by providing PPE.

WHAT IS A VOTER REGISTRATION SPECIALIST?

Our team members are responsible for visiting residential neighborhoods or public areas to register voters. Their duties include:

Educating citizens on how to register to vote
Asking members of the public to register to vote
Persuading people to register to vote
Turning the signed voter registration forms into our team
VOTER REGISTRATION SPECIALIST DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A successful specialist needs to register voters properly and efficiently. This requires excellent communication skills, customer service, and voter registration knowledge. They also need to love talking to people and be persuasive.

Team members must be able to drive, walk and stand for long periods and routinely talk to people about their products, services, or ideas. They require a working knowledge of GPS software, maps, and other navigational tools.

A successful specialist must be able to use paper tools such as coupons, flyers and clipboards. They will have a good memory, create sales scripts, and be adept at persuading people with their personality

HERE ARE EXAMPLES OF SPECIALIST DUTIES:

Go door-to-door to register voters at their homes and businesses
Collect voter registration forms
Demonstrate a vast knowledge of the voter registration laws in Arkansas
Get information, such as contact details and signatures on voter registration forms
Confidently answer questions about voter registration in Arkansas
Possibly recruit, train, onboard and mentor new paid Canvassers
Attend trainings
Consistently meet shift goals, shifts are three hours each
HERE’S WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE TO BE A VOTER REGISTRATION SPECIALIST:

Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure and a positive attitude and ability to keep moving forward
Good time management skills to fulfill quotas within a specific period
Ability to work within a team and independently based on employer requirements
Willingness to learn new technological tools and troubleshoot technical issues
Ability to communicate across lines of difference
Excellent communication skills including eloquence, active listening, and interpersonal skills
Persuasion experience and sales experience is a plus!
Self-motivated and organized
You must be honest
Be civic-minded
High school diploma or equivalent
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must have physical stamina to stand and walk for long periods, meeting and talking to people
Experience is a plus but not required!'
