Why We Do What We Do
We may not be able to share a photo of this guest, but we can celebrate their journey, their perseverance, and the new possibilities that lie ahead.
Today, we’re sharing a photo of the people who have the privilege of walking alongside our guests every day: some of the incredible staff members who make the mission of 7hills possible. Their compassion, dedication, and commitment help create the foundation our guests need to rebuild, recover, and move forward.
Read this success story with us and help us celebrate!
People helping people. Every day.
7hills offered the stability and resources I needed after an extreme life-changing event. Having a safe transitional place to stay provided more than just housing. It gave me the opportunity to focus on rebuilding my life. Weekend meals helped reduce grocery expenses, and access to basic household necessities allowed me to save money instead of constantly spending on everyday essentials.
Items such as bath products, medication, and laundry detergent that met my specific allergy needs were especially helpful. The little things add up quickly when you're trying to start over. Having those needs met created financial breathing room and made a meaningful difference in my ability to regain stability and return to everyday life.
My advice to newcomers As Peter Bromberg said, “When we avoid difficult conversations, we trade short-term discomfort for long-term dysfunction.” Use the program with purpose. Take advantage of the resources available, reduce unnecessary expenses, save what you can, and focus on creating a better future for yourself. What you do with the opportunity ultimately matters.
I would like to thank Hannah for always going above and beyond for guests, offering genuine care, support, and a smile that brightened difficult days. Marcus for constantly improving our environment, solving problems as they arose, sharing his mechanical expertise, preparing weekday meals, and even bringing kittens that provided comfort and emotional support to many of us. Jason for keeping the facilities clean, making us laugh with incredible stories, and setting aside dinner plates to accommodate my work schedule.
Thank you to Daniel for maintaining consistency, enforcing expectations, and helping create a structured environment where accountability matters. Thank you to Kaleb for always having a fresh pot of coffee ready, preparing extra mop buckets, and making sure everyone had what they needed to start the day successfully. Thank you to Kristina for reaching out to donors on my behalf, helping replace stolen household items and furnishings, and fulfilling every requested item on my list.
Finally, thank you to every donor whose generosity makes this program possible. Your support changes lives in ways you may never fully see.
The support provided here truly makes a difference.
