Handi-Wheels Transportation has provided transportation services in Fargo and West Fargo since 1975. Beyond rides, the organization has helped clients build and maintain meaningful connections.

✨ HANDI-WHEELS TRANSPORTATION IS RETIRING!✨

For more than five decades, Handi-Wheels has been more than transportation. We've provided rides to medical appointments, visits with loved ones, community events, and countless moments of connection along the way.

Due to significant changes in Medicaid transportation requirements, reimbursement policies, and the evolving transportation landscape in our community, Handi-Wheels will be concluding operations later this month. We will continue providing rides through October 16, and our offices will remain open through October 31 to assist riders and answer questions.
This decision was made only after careful consideration and with a deep commitment to being responsible stewards of the mission that has guided our organization for more than five decades.

To every rider, family member, caregiver, employee, volunteer, and community partner who has been part of our story: thank you. You are the heart of Handi-Wheels, and it has been our privilege to serve you.

We are grateful for the trust, friendships, and memories shared over the years. While our operations are coming to an end, the impact of Handi-Wheels will continue through the lives we've touched and the connections we've helped create.

As we transition, we remain committed to helping riders connect with alternative transportation resources in our community.

This month, we recognize the individuals and families affected by breast cancer and the healthcare professionals who provide care and support throughout the journey.

At Handi-Wheels, we know that getting to medical appointments is an important part of staying connected to care. We're proud to provide accessible transportation for members of our community who need a safe and reliable way to get where they need to go.

This year's theme, “Celebrating Value and Talent,” recognizes the skills, contributions and talents that people with disabilities bring to workplaces and communities across the country.

At Handi-Wheels, we're reminded every day that transportation can be an important part of independence - including the ability to get to work, volunteer, attend appointments and participate in community life.

We're proud to play a small part in helping our community stay connected.

💙 On Tuesday, Karina attended the FM Resource Fair and had a great time meeting members of our community, sharing information about Handi-Wheels Transportation, and learning about resources available throughout the Fargo-Moorhead area.

✨ For many people, getting where they need to go starts with grabbing their keys.

But when driving isn't an option, everyday activities can take more planning, and transportation can become a barrier to independence.

At Handi-Wheels Transportation, we're proud to provide accessible transportation that helps people get where they need to go and stay connected to their community.

This week is Week Without Driving (October 1-8), a chance to reflect on what transportation access means for the people in our communities who don't drive. 💙
