So, here’s the thing... My name’s Sherman, but it should be GENTLEman. 🐶 I’m a lover, not a fighter, and I’m a player… not like that ladies. 😉 With any dog, any kid, any human — let’s get the zoomies going! I don’t know if I trust cats to play with them, they’re kind of scary. I’d rather sit in a corner and watch them from a distance while I keep my face intact, if you know what I mean.

The humans at the joint always talk about my “wittle teefers," I have an underbite, and that’s okay. I’m unapologetically handsome, and that’s that. 😁

I enjoy sunbathing and walks, but if they get too long, we must find a tree to cuddle under… I don’t make the rules; I just follow them.

Speaking of rules, I follow other ones pretty well. I know where to use the toilet, not to be too noisy unless I really have to use it, and I know how to command the humans to feed me treats… I mean basic commands…

I think I’d make a wonderful addition to just about any home, whether it’s busy and full of adventure or calm and laid-back. I’m down for whatever, as long as it’s FURREVER. 🥰🐾

P.S. This place is great and all, but I’d really love a home — and a family — to call my own.

FOLLOW-UP FRIDAY: Cici (formerly Acai) came to us as a pregnant mama back in March. After her babies were old enough to be adopted, it was finally her turn to find a family of her own, and she officially went home on May 23, 2026. ❤️

Now, she’s right where she was always meant to be and living her best life! Check out the sweet update we recently received from her family below. 🥰🐾

We wanted to send an update on Acai, who quickly became “Cici” to our family.

When we first brought her home, she was timid and shy, quietly taking in her new surroundings and finding her place with us. Watching her slowly come out of her shell was such a joy. Before long, the quiet little cat we brought home revealed herself to be wild, playful, fearless, and full of personality.

Today, Cici is the perfect addition to our family. She fits right in with our two energetic young kiddos and somehow matches their chaos and excitement perfectly. Our daughter absolutely adores her and treasures every moment when Cici comes over for a pet, a cuddle, or a little rub against her hand. Those small moments have become very special memories for both of them.

She also loves to play with our boy cat, and although she is the smallest of our three cats, she carries herself as if she runs the whole house. In many ways, she probably does.

What makes her adoption even more meaningful to us is the timing. We had recently lost our beloved dog, and our home and our hearts felt much emptier than we were prepared for. We weren’t looking to replace what we had lost because we knew that was impossible. But Cici brought joy, laughter, energy, and love back into our home when we needed it most.

She helped heal parts of our hearts that were hurting and reminded us that making room to love again is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves. We truly cannot imagine our family without her now.

Thank you for the care you gave her before she found her way to us and for the work you do every day to help animals find loving homes. Because of your shelter, our family found exactly the companion we didn’t know we needed.

Hi, I’m Becky! Or, as my foster mom calls me, “Best Girl Becky.” 🩷🐾

I came into rescue as a very scared, shut-down girl with a litter of kittens depending on me. I put on my brave pants, raised my babies, and now that they’ve all found their forever homes, it’s finally my turn! I’m embracing a little self-care and “me time” while learning what it’s like to be a loved cat.

And I’ve already come such a long way!

I thrive in a calm, quiet environment where I can take things at my own pace. I love cozy cave beds, cat trees, looking out the window, and I’m even starting to figure out toys. I get excited when my foster mom comes to visit, greeting her with adorable chirpy meows, circling her legs, and soaking up pets. Being picked up, however, is still a hard pass!

I have some pretty cute quirks, too. I scrunch up my face while thoroughly crunching my treats, and when I’m really happy, I make “air biscuits” with my paws. 😻

I may be able to live with a calm, respectful dog with slow introductions, but I’d also be perfectly content as your one and only kitty. A quiet, adult home would be best for me, as lots of commotion can make me nervous.

I’m a sensitive girl who just needs some patience, love, and time to feel safe. Pro tip: treats definitely help! Give me a chance to warm up, and I think you’ll be amazed by how quickly we become friends.

I’ve learned what it feels like to be safe and loved. Now I’m ready to find that feeling forever. 🐈✨

Meet Rutherford, a handsome 7-year-old Great Pyrenees who has mastered the art of enjoying the finer things in life… 🛋️🛏️😴

His favorite things include:

🤍 Being close to his favorite people

Rutherford may be shy and timid when meeting new people, but once he feels safe, this big fluffy guy is an incredibly sweet and cuddly companion. He does well with dogs and cats and generally takes the world around him in stride.

He’s a sensitive boy who does best in a calm, peaceful home, and his foster family has already helped him make wonderful progress. ❤️

And perhaps the most important thing to know about Rutherford? "At night, my foster family pushes two dog beds together, covers them with a blanket, and calls it my Mega Bed. Needless to say, I’m a fan."

Rutherford is currently up for adoption through Homeward Animal Shelter and is looking for a patient, loving family who appreciates a gentle giant with a soft heart and a serious commitment to comfort.

Hi, I’m Dilly Bar! 🍦🐾 I’m an adorable orange tabby with a sweet face, a playful spirit, and a purr that could probably be heard from the next room!

I didn’t have a lot of experience with people before coming to the shelter and eventually moving into foster care, so I’ve had some catching up to do. And you know what? I’ve come such a long way! I can still be a little shy around new people or in unfamiliar situations, but give me some time to figure things out, and you’ll get to see what a happy, sweet little guy I really am.

Once I’m comfortable, I love pets, head scratches, treats, and TOYS! Wand toys, crinkle toys, little mice, springs, puff balls, laser pointers... if I can chase it, bat it around, or pounce on it, I’m probably interested. 😹 I also love climbing cat towers, exploring tunnels, birdwatching, and finding a cozy spot to relax when playtime is over.

I’m good with other cats and would do well with considerate kids who understand that I might need a little space while I settle in.

I may need a little patience at first, but I promise I’m worth the wait. Give me time to feel safe, and before you know it, you’ll have one goofy, playful little purr monster on your hands. 🐈🧡✨
