Tidewater Rotary Club of Easton's FOLKS (Feeding Our Local Kids & Seniors) initiative to combat hunger sponsored a Community Food Packing Day, this morning. With volunteers from Easton High School, Rotary Club of St. Michaels, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at Easton, Brookletts Place - Talbot Senior Center, Neighborhood Service Center, Inc. - Talbot County, Easton Elementary School, Rauch Construction, Rotary Club of Easton, and more, we packed more than 18,000 meal servings in a little over two hours. The cases are already being distributed to all local elementary schools, EHS, Meals on Wheels, St. Michaels Community Center and food pantries throughout Talbot County. When community comes together, anything is possible. We are also continuing to gift new crockpots to local families in need. To donates and/or learn more about Tidewater Rotary & Folks, visit TidewaterRotary.org THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed time, talent and treasure to feeding our neighbors!

We were pleased to have Michael Sieracki from the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES) Horn Point Laboratory join our club meeting this morning!

Michael shared a look into the incredible work happening right across the Choptank River in Cambridge. From cutting-edge biogeochemistry and research to their massive oyster hatchery supporting bay restoration and aquaculture, Horn Point plays a vital role in guiding our state toward a sustainable future.

We appreciate Michael taking the time to share Horn Point's mission and community programs with Tidewater Rotary!

We'd like to thank the Rotary Club of St. Michaels for their generous $1,500 donation to Tidewater Rotary’s FOLKS program!

St. Michaels Rotary hosts regular Monday night Bingo for a Cause events at the Carpenter Street Saloon, and we were honored to be selected as one of the beneficiaries. Thank you to everyone in the community who came out in force to play, laugh, and support the cause.

Rotary in action makes our community stronger! Please consider joining in to help us Feed Our Local Kids and Seniors. tidewaterrotary.org/folks

The holidays are coming, and many of us worry about gaining 5 lbs. because of all of the turkey and pies. Is that you? Meanwhile, thousands in Talbot County don't have enough food on a daily basis. Many have no idea where their next meal will come from, and too many kids go without food at home and have to rely on schools. Actually, how many kids and seniors going hungry is too many? Together, we can all make a difference.
