Emergency assistance can stop a crisis from becoming a catastrophe.

Lasting stability often requires something more: access to employment opportunities, reliable transportation, affordable housing and energy, childcare, health care, and a network of community support.

No organization can address those challenges alone.

As Neighborhood Services of Talbot, we will continue working alongside nonprofits, businesses, agencies, donors, volunteers, and community leaders to help more residents find a path forward.

The new name begins Nov. 1.

As Talbot County’s designated Community Action Agency, we connect residents with resources that address immediate needs and support long-term stability.

Do you need a ride? Here's this from Healthy Talbot

Do you need a ride? Mobility on Demand is a service available to residents of Talbot County. To book a ride, call 410-822-4155 before noon the day of, or the day before to schedule your pick up. Rides are $4 each way for adults and $2 for school-age children. (A DCT bus pass can also be used.)
If you need assistance with public transportation, you may request a "Travel Trainer" to help you at no additional charge.

Have furniture, books, or household items ready for a new home? Your gently used donations can help neighbors while keeping useful items in our community.

The Neighborhood Exchange welcomes donations of furniture, books, kitchenware, lamps, artwork, décor, puzzles, games, small appliances, collectibles, seasonal items, and other household goods.

Donations are welcome during business hours at 25 E. Dover St. in downtown Easton. Across the street from the historic Avalon Theatre.

Hours:
Friday and Saturday: 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
Sunday: Noon–4 p.m.

Give good things a second life. Donations make a thriving neighborhood by helping the people served by the Neighborhood Service Center, Inc. - Talbot County (soon to be Neighborhood Services of Talbot).

Raffle prizes donated by community partners await winners during a previous Talbot County Community Resource Expo. The free 2026 event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Easton Elementary School and will feature giveaways every 30 minutes. Use the event link for all the details.

The Neighborhood Exchange welcomes donations of clean, gently used furniture, lamps, home décor, artwork, kitchenware, small household items, and hardback or coffee table books.

Proceeds from every purchase support the programs and services of the Neighborhood Service Center, Inc. - Talbot County, helping local individuals and families build hope, stability, and independence.
