💛COACH SPOTLIGHT | COACH KENDRA💙⚽️

For Coach Kendra, coaching at Chugiak Soccer Club is a full-circle experience. Born and raised in Chugiak, she grew up playing for CSC before continuing with Cook Inlet and eventually playing collegiately at Colorado School of Mines.

During her college career, Kendra was a two-year captain and helped lead the Orediggers to multiple conference championships, two Elite Eight appearances, and a Final Four appearance. Her senior-year team was later inducted into the school’s Sports Hall of Fame!

Now entering her fourth year coaching at CSC, Coach K serves as Head Coach of Aftershock, and Assistant Coach of Earthquake. She loves the close-knit, community-driven atmosphere at CSC and watching players grow both on and off the field.

One of the biggest things she hopes to pass on to her players, especially the girls in our club, is confidence and the belief that it can carry them far beyond soccer.

From growing up at CSC to now helping develop the next generation of Alaskan athletes, we’re so happy to have Coach Kendra back where it all started!

⚽️ COACH SPOTLIGHT | PAUL ADKINS ⚽️

Meet Coach Paul Adkins, Head Coach of our U16B Tornado and Assistant Coach of our U14B Wildfire!

Coach Paul has been part of Chugiak Soccer Club for the past four years, first spending two years as an assistant coach before stepping into a head coaching role. He also holds his U.S. Soccer D License and brings a strong playing background and passion for player development to CSC.

Before coaching, Coach Paul played club soccer in Ohio for Emerald Soccer Club and Cleveland Internationals, competed with Ohio North ODP, and continued his playing career at Denison University.

What Coach Paul enjoys most about coaching is watching the team grow through the individual growth and development of each player. His approach is about more than simply developing better soccer players. He hopes to instill perseverance and a “never give up” mentality that his players can carry with them both on and off the field.

We’re grateful to have Coach Paul as part of the CSC coaching staff and appreciate the time, experience, and commitment he continues to invest in our players and teams! 💙💛⚽️

⚽️ COACH SPOTLIGHT | BARRINGTON WRIGHT ⚽️

Meet Coach Barrington Wright, one of the dedicated coaches helping develop the next generation of players at Chugiak Soccer Club!

Coach Barrington currently works with our High School Boys and is also involved in CSC’s supplemental and technical training programs. He has been coaching in the Chugiak/Eagle River community since 2013, bringing more than a decade of experience, knowledge, and passion for the game to our players.

His soccer journey began in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, before continuing in the United States at W.H. Shaw High School in Columbus, Georgia, and later at Darton State in Albany, Georgia.

For Coach Barrington, being part of CSC is about more than what happens on the field. One of his favorite parts of the club is the camaraderie among the coaching staff and the shared commitment to helping players grow.
If there’s one lesson he hopes his players take away from their time with him, it’s discipline, something that carries far beyond the soccer field.

And a little fun fact: Coach Barrington says one of his favorite things to do is nutmeg you - watch out!⚽️

We’re grateful to have Coach Barrington as part of the CSC coaching family and appreciate the time, knowledge, and energy he continues to invest in our players and club! 💙💛

🌟 DIRECTOR SPOTLIGHT | CAT RÜESCH 🌟

For Cat Ruesch, Chugiak Soccer Club is much more than a place to coach, it’s a community that has been part of her story for more than 20 years.

Cat grew up playing for CSC as a member of the ’96 Thunder girls team, before continuing her playing career at Darlington and the University of Alabama. Soccer eventually brought her back to where it all began, and today she serves as Executive Director of Chugiak Soccer Club while also coaching the Earthquake U17 Girls.

With seven years of coaching experience, including three years with CISC before joining CSC, Cat holds her C License and CTL-1 and brings a wealth of playing, coaching, and leadership experience to the club. But what matters most to her is the impact soccer can have beyond the field.

Cat believes that “this game is a training ground for life” and hopes her players learn that there are many different paths to becoming who and where they are meant to be. Having experienced firsthand what CSC means to the Chugiak community, she is passionate about creating that same meaningful experience for the next generation of players.

We’re incredibly fortunate to have someone who grew up within this soccer community now helping lead, coach, and shape its future.

⚽️ Once CSC, always CSC. 💙💛
