Our Regional Advisory Council (RAC) Community Partner Gathering brought together community partners, residents, vendors, RAC members, and Wayne Metro team members to celebrate another year of partnership and community impact.

Throughout the afternoon, attendees enjoyed lunch, networking, and interactive activities, including the Community Corner, Community Connections Puzzle, Networking Scavenger Hunt, Dancing and more!
We also made space for meaningful dialogue through our interactive speaking program, community conversations, and Community Needs & Responses Lightning Round, while welcoming our FY27 RAC Board members, enjoying a raffle and an incredible performance from musicians with the Corporation for Artistic Development.

To our community partners, RAC members, sponsors, vendors, staff, and attendees - THANK YOU! Your time, talents, resources, and continued partnership help us strengthen connections, listen to our communities, and create meaningful opportunities across Wayne County.

At 17 years old, Maanasa Nichanametla is already making a meaningful impact through her organization, MSN HopeHer. Her mission is to support the mental health and well-being of pediatric oncology patients in Detroit.

Through her Seeding Wayne County project, Maanasa is creating themed mental health care packages designed to support emotional well-being, reduce stress and bring a sense of normalcy to children during treatment. After spending long periods of time in the hospital as a child herself, she understands how important it is for young patients to feel supported, cared for and seen.

Our Community Engagement team member, Alana F., was paired with Maanasa and MSN HopeHer throughout the grant process, and we’re so proud to support a young leader who is turning her own experience into meaningful change for others.
