“These classes cost money. Some of them are like $3,500 to get certain certifications and they’re giving them to you for free,” said Robert Glimpse, a graduate of Walker-Miller Energy Services’ workforce training program.

Through Walker-Miller’s free, paid training program, Glimpse earned industry certifications and hands-on experience that helped him secure a job as an energy auditor. He’s among the roughly 90% of participants who secure employment by the end of the six-week program.

The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation was built to make an impact in 20 years, but some of our earliest investments were designed to last well beyond our lifetime.

Inspired by Mr. Wilson’s belief in making a difference without delay, the Foundation’s Life Trustees committed more than $60 million in transitional legacy grants in our first year, including the establishment of nine permanent Legacy Funds at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, Rochester Area Community Foundation.

Enrollment is now open for Mission Tempo!

This new initiative offers small and midsized nonprofits across Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes region affordable, specialized support in finance, human resources and communications, helping them strengthen their operations and focus on their missions.

Organizations with annual budgets of $5 million or less can complete an interest form and register for an informational webinar on Oct. 15th, from noon to 1 p.m., at MissionTempo.org.
