This clip from a previous episode still stops me in my tracks. Did you catch this one? 🔁 Share if it resonates.

60% of seniors living in care facilities do not receive a single visitor. Let that sink in for a moment. 🤍

Rachel Doyle, founder of GlamourGals , learned about that statistic and realized she couldn’t look away. So she built something inspiring and beautiful. GlamourGals organizes teen-led volunteer chapters in high schools and colleges across the country - where young women visit seniors in care, offer complimentary makeovers, and most importantly, bring something priceless: their time, their presence, and their companionship.

As one of their volunteers said - “People don’t just want to be taken care of. They want to be remembered, listened to, respected.” And don’t we all.

That is a Revolution. 🌟

With more than 25,000 teen volunteers, 150+ communities, and 175,000+ hours of service - GlamourGals is proving that kindness is not just nice. It’s necessary.

🌟 Revolution of the Week | Aleks & Mic, Co-Founders of HERstory

“You have a story worth saying out loud.“

I adore and and I’ve always been blown away by their lives and their sparks. And what they are building with HERstory, I love everything about it! THIS is exactly what the world needs more of and they are just doing it ‘live’!

Aleks and Mic looked around and saw the same thing everywhere they went - women with full lives and silent stories. Not because they had nothing to say. But because there was nowhere safe to say it. So they built the room they wished existed. ✨

HERstory is an intimate open mic night where women take the mic, share what they’ve been carrying, and are met with nothing but warmth, support, and love. No judgment. No critiques. Just women showing up for each other in the most powerful way.

What moves me most about Aleks and Mic is that they didn’t just sit around and wait for someone else to create this space. One is a web designer and digital strategist. One is a speaker, writer, and creator. They connected and together, they built something that is truly changing the world. Something that reminds women that their story matters and that they have the power to change the world through sharing their story. 🤍

Aleks and Mic - YOU are 1 Girl Revolution’s and I’m so honored to know you. ✨🌟✨

If you’re in Michigan, their next event is July 23rd in Plymouth - link is in stories to grab your seat. Whether you take the mic or simply sit in the room, you will leave changed. Go to HERstorynight.com for more info ✨

☀️ Happy Monday, 1 Girl Revolution!

There’s something about a Monday morning that feels like a fresh start - like coming back with a fresh perspective on what matters. And you, this community, this mission? You matter. ✨🤍

For those of you who are new here, hi! I’m Kate Milligan, the founder of 1 Girl Revolution - a nonprofit multimedia platform built on the belief that every woman has a story, every story has power, and the world is changed one person, one revolution at a time.

I started 1 Girl Revolution because I believe women need to see themselves reflected in stories of courage, resilience, and purpose. I believe that everyday women - not just the famous ones - are out here quietly changing the world. And I believe that when we share those stories, something changes. In us. In others. In our world.

Here you’ll find our Revolution of the Week series spotlighting incredible women doing extraordinary things, throwbacks to powerful podcast conversations, volunteer opportunities to get out and serve your community, new episodes coming soon, and so much more coming your way this summer! 🌟

I am so glad you’re here. We’re just getting started - and I’m so glad we’re doing this together. ✨

Now tell me - who are YOU and what’s your Revolution? Drop it below! 👇

This morning I read a social media post about Down Syndrome that absolutely sickened me - and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. I was trying to figure out what podcast episode to share today and this is the clip I felt convicted to share as a throwback clip today.

These precious children and adults with Down Syndrome are a treasure in this world. If you don’t know someone with Down Syndrome, get to know someone who has it. Down Syndrome is not something to be afraid of and they are most certainly not deserving of an “I’m so sorry.”

If you don’t know about Down Syndrome - get educated. If you don’t know someone with Down Syndrome, I’m happy to connect you with someone or one of the AMAZING families I know. These are individuals who bring immeasurable love, joy, and beauty into this world. Down Syndrome and every individual with DS should be CELEBRATED. 🤍

Lauren Costabile and her incredible organization - alongside so many others we’ve highlighted on this platform - remind us of the treasure that every person with Down Syndrome brings to the world. I am so grateful we had Lauren on the podcast.

One of the most powerful things we can do is show up and help others. That’s why every month, we will be sharing volunteer opportunities in our community - because we believe that every person makes a difference and every act of service matters.

🌟 Revolution of the Week | Katherine Wolf

I have followed .wolf and her story for years, but just decided to start reading her book Suffer Strong and I cannot put it down.

Katherine’s story blows me away. At just 26 years old, she suffered a catastrophic stroke that changed everything. But she didn’t just survive... she and her husband Jay turned their pain into purpose and founded , creating beautiful spaces of belonging for families and individuals living with differences and disabilities. Spaces where people who’ve never felt like they belonged finally do. It’s incredible!

Katherine is an author. A speaker. A mother. A champion for people who feel unseen. And she is, without question, a 1 Girl Revolution! ✨🌟✨

What has moved me most about Katherine is this: she took the life she never imagined living and she chose to embrace it, love it, and use her life and her story to help others do the same. How extraordinary. And that is what a Revolution looks like!

If you haven’t heard of Hope Heals or read Suffer Strong - check them out! You will be changed and inspired. 🤍

✨ This is the launch of our brand new Revolution of the Week series! Every week, we will be spotlighting an incredible woman whose story deserves to be told - because the world needs more of this. More stories. More inspiration. More proof that women are out here changing everything. Stay tuned, and if you know a woman who should be featured, drop her name in the comments or send us a DM! 🌟

This moment from Episode 240 resonates so deeply with me - and I think it will with you too. Did you catch this one? 🔁 Share if it resonates.

Hannah Palmer is a teacher, a mental health advocate, a beauty queen - and a survivor. After facing unimaginable struggles, she didn’t just heal. She built something. The Sunflower Project exists because Hannah decided her pain would become someone else’s hope. 🌻

This conversation stopped me in my tracks when I first recorded it - and it still does.
