WE’RE HIRING | Student Support Specialist

DHDC is looking for a compassionate, organized, and reliable Student Support Specialist to join our Adult Education team.

This role supports adult learners throughout their educational journey—from onboarding and registration to attendance, engagement, and connecting students with community resources.

Qualifications:
• Professional fluency in English & Spanish
• 2+ years of experience working with adult learners or in a community-facing role
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Compassion and empathy for diverse adult learners
• Experience with Microsoft Word & Excel

🕐 Part-Time: 12 hours/week
📚 Grant-funded position aligned with the academic calendar

November 3 Election: Key Dates to Know

Election Day is almost here. Save these important dates so you know when and where you can vote in Michigan’s November 3 General Election.

• October 24: Statewide in-person early voting begins. All communities must offer early voting at a designated site starting this day. Contact your clerk or visit MichiganVoting.org to find out when and where you can vote early.

• November 1: Last day of statewide in-person early voting.

• November 2 at 4 PM: Deadline to vote in person with an absentee ballot at your city or township clerk’s office, if you’re registered to vote where you live. After 4 PM, you must vote at your polling place on Election Day.

• November 3 — Election Day: Polls are open 7 AM–8 PM local time. If you still need to register to vote, you can register and vote at your city or township clerk’s office until 8 PM.

Military & overseas voters: Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day, November 3, and received by Monday, November 9 to count.

Know your dates. Know your options. Make a plan to vote.
