Food For Thought - Denver On the weekends, these children often do not get enough to eat and are coming to school hungry on Monday mornings. Feed a child.

During the week, children from low-income families at Title I schools rely on federally funded school breakfast and lunch programs as their main nutritional meals. We pack PowerSacks of non-perishable food for kids to take home for the weekends! It's simple. TEXT FFT TO 84576 for a simple $5 donation!

Join us in giving a SPECIAL THANKS to CoralTree Hospitality for their incredibly generous $1,500 donation last Friday morning. This gift puts a lot of much-needed food in bellies, and we're grateful for our partnership with this wonderful organization. ❤

THANK YOU to EVERYONE who came down to pack food, engage with the FFT family, and make the weekend a little brighter for our kiddos.

A little more about food insecurity in our region…

Last Friday, the kids at Eagleton Elementary got a BIG surprise.

And gave us a day we’ll never forget. 🤩 ❤️

Colorado Avalanche players Sam Malinski, Zachary L’Heureux, Mark Rycroft, and the Avalanche Ice Patrol showed up to help pack over 400 PowerSacks of food for the kids. 🏒 🎒

But what made this day so special went far beyond the bags we packed.

It was the faces lighting up. The high fives. The hugs. The moments when someone stopped to listen, share a laugh, and make a child feel like the most important person in the room. The absolute joy was something to be seen, and it meant just as much to us as it did to our kiddos. 🤗

Everyone knows that packing food every Friday is HOW we show up for our kids. But WHY we do it is to make sure they know their community cares about them. And we will walk with them to a better future.

Last Friday, the Avs helped us deliver both. 🙌

THANK YOU for showing up with so much heart. This partnership means the world to us - not just for the food it helps us provide - but for the connections and beautiful memories it creates for the children and families we serve. ❤

We spend our weekends thinking about the kiddos!

As this one closes, let's reflect on how it began with another inspirational Friday food packing. 😍

Special thanks to the Prologis team and the Regis Jesuit High School Field Hockey team for bringing GREAT ENERGY, and to Columbine Label Company for giving us an extra hand with setup in the wee hours of the morning!

Now THAT'S dedication. 💪

Last Friday’s food packing event was ONE FOR THE BOOKS! We had an incredible crew come together to pack meals for our kiddos.

And getting to do it alongside the Colorado Avalanche made the day even more special. 🏒 💙

There’s something pretty damn special about seeing one of Denver’s finest sports institutions step up for the city we all love and call home. The Avs brought great energy and big hearts to help make a difference for the kids and families who need it most in our community.

A HUGE THANK YOU as well to BOK Financial, who came ready to rock and roll with a fantastic group of volunteers who have been doing their best for FFT for many years now.

DENVER SHOWS UP FOR DENVER. 💪 Last Friday was a perfect example of what happens when great people and great organizations come together with a shared commitment to our kids. 🍎

THANK YOU ALL! 🙌
