Art from Ashes The first Colorado youth arts agency to empower youth through creative expression and transformation

AfA's creative programs use right-brain techniques and cutting-edge scientific information on creativity, neurology, youth development and behavioral psychology to address risk factors among struggling young people. Studies show that factors contributing to juvenile delinquency include a lack of activities for youth that provide constructive developmental experiences; disconnect between youth and adults; and the lack of personal resiliency that results from low self-esteem/self-efficacy. Our creative workshops are focused on positive, interactive activities that are designed to promote healthy thinking and behaviors; offer an opportunity for youth to connect to adult facilitators, poets and artists, each other and the community; and survey results attest to the powerful impact of the program on self-esteem.

Today is the 23rd anniversary of the founding of Art from Ashes! ✨ We had four of our folks at three different events today (celebrating IRL!) so we’re a little late posting, but slipping it in before midnight. 🙂 Art from Ashes has been empowering youth and amplifying voices since October 10, 2003. This beloved agency has served more than 20,000 youth in partnership with 250+ organizations and counting. We are grateful for all the people, poems, stories, joy, tears, and laughter that made us who we are today. In the comments, drop a line or photo of your favorite Art from Ashes memory. Here's to many more! 🎉

P.S. We are in the process of starting an Art from Ashes alumni group for any and all past youth participants. If you’re interested, fill out this short form and we’ll be in touch! https://artfromashes.org/alumni/
