Art from Ashes The first Colorado youth arts agency to empower youth through creative expression and transformation

AfA's creative programs use right-brain techniques and cutting-edge scientific information on creativity, neurology, youth development and behavioral psychology to address risk factors among struggling young people. Studies show that factors contributing to juvenile delinquency include a lack of activities for youth that provide constructive developmental experiences; disconnect between youth and

adults; and the lack of personal resiliency that results from low self-esteem/self-efficacy. Our creative workshops are focused on positive, interactive activities that are designed to promote healthy thinking and behaviors; offer an opportunity for youth to connect to adult facilitators, poets and artists, each other and the community; and survey results attest to the powerful impact of the program on self-esteem.

May is packed with opportunities to come create with us at Art from Ashes!

Youth, ages 12 to 24, join us EVERY Wednesday from 4pm to 6pm for Creative Time (in-person) where we'll write and make art. 🖊

Tuesdays, starting May 19th through the end of June, Poet-tree is back! Join us for prompts centered around the valuable lessons we learn from nature when the trees begin to bud and break into blossom again. 🌸

This month's Virtual Third Thursday is May 21st. Workshop at 5pm (via Zoom), and performances at 6pm on Instagram live! 🖊

Calling all YOUTH! It's time for the First Friday Creative Empowerment Workshop at Art from Ashes. 🖊📓🎤

The workshop is today at 5pm for youth 12 to 24 at Art from Ashes (1310 W 10th Ave). We'll provide the pizza and prompts and you get paid (to perform poems written during the workshop)!

Our SPRING Poet-Tree series concludes TODAY!! 🌸🌼🍃 The metaphors continue as our poetry prompts are centered around the valuable lessons we learn from nature when the trees begin to bud and break into blossom again. Youth ages 12 to 24, join us from 4pm to 6pm at our agency location (1310 W 10th Ave, one block from the 10th and Osage light rail station)! We’ll provide the poetry and art prompts to transform our current 3D Poet-Tree art piece. No registration required, just show up. All art prompts, materials, and snacks will be provided, so just bring yourself (and a friend or two)!
