MISSION
The Denver Tool Library is a non-profit that provides the Denver metro area with low-cost access to tools and the know-how to use them, all in a safe and supportive environment. We aim to remove barriers to tool access, including high cost, space, knowledge, inhibition, and discrimination, so that everyone can have the resources they need to make and maintain the lives they imagine. denvertoollibrary.org

We’ve got a brand new class! Wood Carving Flowers with our new teacher Caroline Martinez of . The first dates are already sold out, so sign up soon!

About the Class: Discover the traditional art of relief wood carving using classic hand tools. This hands on class is the perfect introduction to shaping wood, creating depth, and sculpting organic designs from raw lumber. Working on a 5”x5” block of soft basswood, you will learn how to safely handle carving knives and gouges to carve a decorative wooden flower. The carving cuts and dimensional techniques covered in this workshop can easily be applied to your own furniture projects, decorative signs, and home builds.

About Your Teacher: Caroline is a wood carver specializing in relief carvings using hand tools, a CNC router table, and responsibly sourced wood wherever possible. Caroline primarily creates nature-based designs such as flowers, animals, and topographical maps with the goal of connecting people to the beauty in nature. See her work on Instagram at

Community Partner Project Recap! 🛠️

The picnic tables at Denver Urban Garden’s Fairmont community garden, which shares space with a nearby school, were in pretty rough shape (literally). We teamed up with DUG to provide sanders and guidance to local volunteers and students, who sanded and stained them good as new!

On some first Friday's of each month, the Denver Tool Library opens its doors as part of the Santa Fe Arts District Art Walk. These events are open to everyone (no membership required) and are an easy way to check out our space, learn about our programs, and build community.

We’ve got a brand new woodworking class! Kumiko Tea Boxes w/ David Shih. First class will be Sunday, October 11th - hope to see you there!

Learn the art of kumiko while building your own custom wooden tea box. This hands-on class covers the full build process, from cutting miters and routing grooves with shop power tools, to chiseling and assembling small wood pieces into an intricate geometric lattice that holds together without nails or glue. You’ll leave with a functional, display-worthy box of Japanese-inspired craftsmanship. Join this supportive beginner-friendly workshop, expand your handy DIY skillset, and connect with a community of fellow makers!

The Tool Lending Library will close an hour early at 1pm on Sunday, Sept 27th for our Repair Fair.

Repair Fairs are free events where community members can bring broken everyday items, such as toasters, bicycles, pants, and more, for free repairs by local volunteer fixers. These fairs offer a chance to learn valuable repair skills, reduce waste, and connect with your neighbors. No repair experience is required as our volunteers will guide you through fixing the items you bring in (limit two items per person please!).
