The GreenLight Denver team attended the The Women's Foundation of Colorado's annual luncheon event with two of our SAC members, Isabel Dickson and Emily Shamsid-Deen. We had a wonderful time laughing, learning from special guests Cristela Alonzo and Margaret Cho, and connecting with community champions for women & girls.

This month, GreenLight Denver is celebrating Denver’s rich and diverse Latiné communities for Latiné Heritage Month. The celebration starts on September 15 because it is the anniversary of independence for five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

Denver’s Latiné communities have long been leaders, innovators, advocates, entrepreneurs, artists, and changemakers who have and continue to shape the fabric of our community. Their contributions continue to strengthen our neighborhoods, culture, economy, and collective future.

This month and every month, we celebrate the history, resilience, and impact of Latiné communities across Denver and beyond.

Just over a year ago, HomeStart's Renew Collaborative began offering services in Denver, as a program of Mile High United Way (MHUW).

In that time, MHUW has supported individuals and families across Denver Housing Authority properties to avoid eviction and achieve housing stability. This work not only prevents eviction, it’s also about preserving dignity and creating pathways with families to long-term stability.

We’re grateful for everyone who has helped make this first year in Denver possible and excited for this work to continue building a stronger and more stably housed city. Congratulations to the Renew Collaborative! 👏

Mile High United Way provides wraparound services and housing support to Metro Denver tenants facing eviction through Renew Collaborative.

We’re currently in the “Select” phase of our process.

We’re in a stage called “full diligence” where we deeply explore and consider what the impact of a handful of organizations could be with guidance from our community and Selection Advisory Council.
