The Kansas River provides water to nearly 1 million people and depends on a network of tributaries and reservoirs. At Tuttle Creek Lake, sediment naturally builds over time and can reduce storage capacity.

The Kansas Water Office and Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are using water injection dredging to move built-up sediment and help preserve that capacity, supporting a reliable water source for Kansans into the future.

For WaterOne, that’s source water protection in action.
