Elevation church, Christine and Ibrahim’s home church during their time they lived in North Carolina, did a backpack drive for the Greater series and book that Pastor Steven Furtick wrote. They sent backpacks to Rosemont Elementary, in Los Angeles, CA. When they asked Pastor Matthew Barnett (founder of the L.A. Dream Center) who the donated book bags should go to, he said this: “One of the poorest schools in the country, Rosemont Elementary (200 yards from Dream Center) is trying to raise incentives for kids to improve test scores. They have been begging us for backpacks to give kids incentives for studying. Can you believe these kids requested backpacks over bikes? This is the kind of poverty that exists when kids request that kind of stuff. We ran out of backpacks and prayed for more. What a miracle! Answer to prayer! Elevation Rocks!”
